Stros looked good but they did not have to play the tough side of the bracket ...... like Kaos, TPS, Sting, & Rage. Did not matter who TPS played at this tournament on this weekend they were the best team at the tournament. :o

Your right Hammer TPS was the team this past week-end, and for the most of this year so far. Don't count Sting out they have great coaching and good ball players, they will be a team to watch out for before much longer. Kaos still can be very good. Depends on players wanting it. By July it will be 1) TPS 98
2) Sting
3) Kaos
4) Lady Stros
5) Rage
6) Panthers

What I have seen is the teams that have improved & gotten stronger are the teams that have really turned up going to tournaments each weekend. This is what makes you better is playing tournaments & TPS is going to more than there share. Kaos is going to get better throughout the year with the talent that they have on there roster with more tournaments as is the Sting. It will be interesting to see if TPS can keep from burn out by the time Nat. come around. That is the tough part to juggle with this age group. Peeking at the right time for a team is the most important ( to make a run at Nat. ) at any age group. The grind of tournaments every weekend is tough, but if the girls & parents are for it and it is managed correct you will get tough to beat like TPS. They have the right girls in place & they will be tough to compete with, where ever you run into them. I hope they can keep it together till Nat. I like to see Tx. teams do well out of our area on the Nat. stage. Remember it is a long summer with allot of sharks in the Houston area and teams will challenge TPS every weekend & believe me they will have a big bulls eye on there back for the rest of the summer. Every team will want to use them as a measuring stick on where they are with there team. ;) :)

Man we need to get more opinions on our 10U threads. I don’t want to inflate any Californians ego but look at their 10U topics. They get hundreds of people’s opinions going. Come on Texas let’s talk some 10U ball. Hammer let’s get a topic going that covers all of Texas. I know we all saw good, and bad teams at the Bomber that were not from the Houston area. Let’s get people talking about them. I know there are a lot of people who look at hey bucket but never put down their opinions too scared I guess. Look at how many views this one tournament has. Tex I would rate the Panthers higher in your top six, just from what I have seen they play hard. All these teams are good and class acts.

Ya, we have about covered the top six in Houston. Opinions very from week to week on who is going to win in the top six, and teams will change during the season. It would be nice to here other opinions. I would like to hear more from the coaches of some of the teams( we get enough from the armchair coaches ). They should have some good impute on the bucket ! :)

They seem to be peeking right now. Don't know if that is good or bad. Could be early in the season. Will have to see how it boads for them as the year progresses.

You were on the right bandwagon on this weekend :) Must be a parent of a TPS dd

I have not watched a lot of 99's this year in the Houston area but the one that stands out in Houston is Humble Cobras (Grotenhuis). I watched them play the TPS 98 in Deer Park and held TPS 1-0. I was impressed with them. They will be tough as they get older. I was told they won the 8u ASA State last year "very good team". The only other 99 team that was in the ball park was the 99 TPS. They keep good talent in the pipeline and play very scrappy. They have beat some good 98 teams early this year. All I can say is schedule some tournaments in the Houston area and see how you stand with some of these 99's here. It could only help you get ready for State and see what everyone has.
8-)
