I can confirm that I was told that by Troy when I spoke to him about a tryout back in the fall.

Being that my kid plays for one of the first year 16u middle of the pack teams, (out of Pendleton..), I agree with alot of the posts on this topic. The Shockwaves and Gators are the only teams that have seperated themselves from the crowd......the next 12 teams or so are close and sprinkled with some good players, but pitching and defense is what's going to make the difference. best of the rest from I've seen in order; ...Dreams (Reece), Explosion, Magic, Dreams (Lemming), Lightning, Fire, Wizards, Diamond Chix?, Vipers, Terror, Pride, Akadeema, Elite,Team Indiana, Inferno, ....

We will see on June 20th. Hopefully everyone is healthy and puts their best foot forward. As member of Team Akadema, we have been forunate or unforunate (lol) to play most of these teams. Shockwaves93, as stated, have an intangible, they expect to win every game. Makes a huge difference. I know that we have played the gators twice, one was a tie, other was 1-0. Wizards are very good and actually beat us at Midwest in the fall. Beat Team Indiana two or three times, same with Fire. Beat the Vipers, lost to Chix. But again it is the poise that Shockwaves have when they are behind. They expect to win. Cant say that about all teams. Pitchers poise on the mound determines a lot in these games. How they react to errors, bad calls, and a squeezed zone.
Off subject: Best player we have played this year and have seen her 4 or 5 times, is the catcher from the Fire. She is a joy to watch. Cannon for an arm and knows it (lol).
Good luck to all.

Heard a rumor that the Dreams (Leming) picked up 4 girls from the Krushers team out of Terre Haute! If they are the ones i heard, he just got VERY strong! Could be interesting! You guys are right on it with the "waves"!! They don't think they can win, they expect it! That's why they are the best! Troy has alot to do with that! Until someone steps up, they are the best!

Stratos: you might want to check your score book again. Akadema and Team Indiana have played 3 times. TI leads the series 2-1. Akadema is a very good team and the competition is great. Wish you would give some other teams a little credit once in a while though.

yeah Stratos, I remember watching a couple of pretty good games at the dome where I thought your team came up short against a couple of the teams you mentioned ...I could be wrong, but you might want to check your scorebook..!

Ballguy,
Playing these teams in the fall and winter mean nothing! The better teams don't play the same game indoors as they do out! No sliding, bunting, situations! It's hitting and Pitching! Getting fired up about a good finish in the fall and winter is crazy! Nothing pans out till June! We haven't even seen the best teams at Full strength yet! Akadema is doing some great things for this state! And your teams is good, but wait till june! Things get crazy! You are on it about injuries(health) the high scholl season could kill some of stronger teams! Good luck!!

Looking,
I completely agree that the fall and winter mean nothing. And for the record I am not fired up. I do realize that TI 16u is a new team and needs some work to become competitive game in and game out. The way Stratos was naming teams like they mowed through them all with little problem I just felt like he needed to give these teams a little credit. Whether it is a good thing or bad there are a lot of 16u teams (many newly formed) and most if not all will be able to beat 95% of the Indiana 16U teams at any given time. Listening to some of the posters here it seems like all but 4 or 5 teams should just pack it up and go back to rec. ball. Me personally I like the competition and like to play different teams instead of the same ones over and over.
