Lol. In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act. So I'll take the bait.

Legal reasoning, correctly practiced, is the application of established (preferably tested) principles, and logic, to patterns of facts. Without bias or emotion. Women do all sorts of things better than men, but logical, unemotional decision-making isn't one of them.

Unfortunately we now live in a womanly society producing womanly men and womanly laws and policies designed to assuage emotional needs rather than solve real problems or produce best outcomes. There's a reason for that.

I concede differences exist between men and woman ... I am a big fan of many of those differences.

In my generation ... Back in HS, girls were often led to Home Economics, Typing, Sewing etc. while boys were led to the Building Trades, Wood Shop, Metal Shop, Auto Shop classes etc. ... This laid some of the groundwork for their future ... After HS they were led to professions that were considered professions for women; Secretary, Nursing, Home Maker etc not higher paying careers in Architecture, Engineering, High Iron,Welder, Doctor, Attorney etc .

I agree that a female Attorney will earn a very similar wage to a male Attorney with the same qualifications ... When or if they would even be considered as an equal in that male dominated profession ... I also agree they are (in general) the dominate sex in relationships, but I think not considered so in many fields of employment ... In addition, they are not even guaranteed Equal Rights by the US Constitution since in 46 years the ERA has yet to ratify.

Men's attitude towards women, visa versa and women's attitude about a females "role" in life and employment etc.will take generations to change ... Many areas of the country are slow to accept change ... I saw a picture in a farming magazine that had a 3 generation family standing by a tractor in front of their farm house, not one female in the picture. First hand, I know woman are some of the hardest workers on a farm, but seldom even considered as such ... I'm fairly certain this behavior exists in other fields as well.

We had the same types of high school classes in my day. But it's simply wrong to conclude or suggest that the creation of the classes preceded the demand for the classes, pursuant to some sort of patriarchal social objective. Schools offered those courses because there was huge demand for them. There still would be, but for the idiotic and elitist fiction they pimped that everyone is supposed to have a college degree and that the picture of success in this country is a 6-figure professional career (preferably with 1 child or less). Money and professional achievement, that's the ticket to happiness! For everyone!!

The proof is in the pudding. There are ZERO barriers to women's participation in any career, up to and including military combat. How many are working high steel? How many carpenters do you see? Or plumbers? Or combat infantrymen, for that matter? Women didn't take classes to become builders because they didn't want to become builders, then or now. And it strikes me as very harmful to create policies or incentives designed to push people into careers for which they lack natural aptitude or interest.

It's one thing to say a woman should be allowed into any field in which she has the ability to compete and succeed on her own merit. Freedom! But it's quite another to look at any field and conclude "sexism" if numerical representation isn't completely equal at all levels. The word for that is stupidity.

We have spent unimaginable effort and resources to correct a problem that never existed. Do you think that “women’s attitudes about a female’s ‘role’ in life and employment” were somehow forced upon them, or does it make more sense to believe that women have those attitudes because they naturally feel that way themselves, from within? Do you think all of the men who came before us actually didn’t care whether their wives or daughters led fulfilling, happy lives? “Get in the kitchen, slaves!” The notion is absurd on its face, and there is zero historical evidence in support of it.

All the generations and cultures preceding us had it wrong, and the people making policy today have it right? Is that the belief you're running with? "Full speed ahead, geniuses: just a few more generations and everything will be perfect!" Meanwhile suicide and drug abuse is rampant, life satisfaction is way down, men themselves can’t seem to find a meaningful place in the new world order, etc. And women by the millions drop out of their unfulfilling careers in order to try to have families--many times too late.

No, I think it’s pretty clear that both men and women were, by and large, happier before Nazi feminists started calling the shots.

No, you insufferable douchebag, Heybucket is not a softball website. It's a parenting forum. People come here looking for insight and advice with which they can make good parenting decisions in the contexts of softball, education, child-rearing, and an array of other areas.

So now that you understand the purpose of this forum perhaps you can appreciate that I have added more value just in my posts on this thread than you have added in the sum total of all the inane posts you have ever made on here. But I doubt it. Given the quality of what I've seen from you so far, adding value isn't your long suit.

I've often wondered what it's like going through life as a beta male. Always sniffing around the alphas, passive-aggressively trying to leverage some sort of advantage or attention. It's sad to watch.

There's a lot of qualities that make a coach great, only one of them is experience. Some of these men, and ex-fastpitch stars are excellent coaches while others are not so good. The fact that these individuals played has very little to do with their ability to coach, men or women. I didn't notice a lot of personality in most of them, they acted as if what they were doing brain surgery. Fact based excellent, personable terrible, Knute Rockne they were not. The girls played not the coaches.

I believe much of what you say has truth in it ... Throughout history it made more sense that women were usually the primary care giver in the home and not the hunter gatherer (although in some cultures they were) ... They have the milk after all ... But I also believe that societal norms, customs and ideals play into both males and females view of women and what being a woman means ... Or what being a man means for that matter ... I think opportunity for employment should all be based on merit and not just because someone in that profession says "it's a total disaster in the making" or some exec says we have to hire this person to balance our numbers ... Although it is getting better; the problem not only did exist, but still does.

When should women (or men) stop standing up for themselves (or others) ? When the ERA is ratified or when society begins to act like it ?

Its time for the 1960's bare knuckle coaching to end. Goodbye Woody Hays enter Brad Stevens. Yes, there has been a lot women coaches in the same boat, but it seems to me that some of these older men are turning back the clock. Lets move forward, it's a different time with different kids. The screaming and yelling isn't good coaching, it's unbalanced. Of course I'm not taking about screaming encouragement or getting a point across from a distance, but this pulling a kid aside and brow beating them is not needed. I saw too many games during this world series lost for this type of behavior, men or women, it's time to stop and use the coaching skills they are suppose to possess.

I have no problem with coaches that yell, I just hate coaches that yell for the sake of yelling- Male or Female. There is a difference between being tough and holding players accountable and being downright mean and abusive. There are far too many coaches that scream their heads and berate their players and then wonder why they don’t respond. Not yelling for the sake of yelling is certainly not pussification

The toughest football coach I ever had in High School rarely yelled- he just had this glare that could melt ice(btw, he’s a hall of fame lacrosse coach that took Princeton and University of Denver to National Titles)

True leaders inspire people to do things they didn’t know they could do. Sometimes by pushing, sometimes by pulling, sometimes it’s by coddling and sometimes by yelling. Sometimes it’s treating everyone the same and other times it’s figuring out what buttons to push.
