D. Cut the player and get a player who is serious about playing softball and not wasting time with acadu....acudem....uh...ocadim....uh....school stuff.

Sam, that was funny. 
First, congratulations to your daughter. What a fantastic step to a very bright future.
However, I have to ask, she's quitting softball because of a single weekend? I'm not sure that is the best lesson to teach either. At some point she will be passed over for promotion, have a no-show date, or some other kind of injustice. Teach her how to deal with it and come back stronger. I would hate for her to remember this sport by just one incident.

Boarding School? 1300 Miles away? 14yrs old?
Let us know how that works out I'd much rather be eating frito pies watching DD Strike out for the 3rd time hoping there wasn't a scout in the stands, trying to figure out how to avoid a flip flop tan

I would much rather watch my kid thoroughly enjoy an elite, northeast boarding school experience, graduate from Andover, then Harvard medical school, then a residence at John Hopkins, then find a cure for cancer . . . but that's just my own selfishness.

Good luck on the prep school deal, sounds like she could still play there...! But then again, you could be saving the next potential team alot of drama by choosing not to play..!
