So Calif CIF Southern Section rule #310 pg 100 in Bluebook : A high school team at ANY level in any sport can NOT practice or play games on Sundays. Exception - because of 'religious' reasons & a school must register the info with CIF ahead of time.

So Calif ASA travelball : a team may practice any day of the week.

Two different organizations each with their own rules.

What about a practice on a Saturday? (both teams that is)

a high school team (any level) in So Cal SS can not play a travel team duing their 'season of sport' on any day of the week. A H S team is only allowed to play other H S teams during their season of sport - 1st game on schedule to last game on schedule. No 'practices' or games with or without umps from March 6th to the teams last game of the season.

San Diego has some crazy rules. they prohibit contact of any kind for a HS player and their travel coach during the entire season.

So in SD a HS players has not travel practice during the season, although I suspect they skirt that rule. i am SHOCKED nobody has sued over this rule. i can promise you I would not allow the school districts to control what my kid did on her own time in regards to practice.

These rules really only impact Freshman who also play 14u. there are no 16-gold level torunaments during the HS season, so they have no issues.

But 14u does. A hs player could wear the uniform to tournaments, sit in dugout, even play catch.... just as long as she never enters a game she is ok.
