Let's just say if you had never met him, but had only heard about him through the posts on this site, you would have known exactly who he was after watching an inning or two of almost any one of his games. You can't call what he does a "melt down," ...it's simply the way he coaches...and the parents put up with it because....UH.....?????? Maybe they think by dropping the F-bomb, calling the players names and all his other insperational methods....the players will be scared or embarrassed into playing better?

Short answer: New Tournament...same Stan!

How many times have you heard parents defend their coach with these terms:

I know he has a pretty bad mouth, but he REALLY knows the game!

Yes, he is VERY hard on the players, but he just doesn't put up with any crap...and they respect that!

Yes, you might not agree with his methods...but he knows how to WIN!

My favorite: Yes, he was arrested for molesting one of his players...but he was not found guilty. (Another way of saying "hung jury!")


There is no answer as to why some of these parents put up with some of this crap. I can only tell you that I wouldn't.

You know Stan was run out of Rancho Bernardo and he will soon be run out of Temecula. The crap that his players and parents put up with is over the top. The group that he has now are mostly new players to travel and they have only heard the bad stuff. Well they are now getting to taste it.
