Top Teams at Bombers Tournament??? 14U

by Lefty's Dad » Fri Mar 06, 2009 9:26 am

I just looked through all the teams on VTD again and there sure are a lot of teams classified as "B" teams. Never quite understood how that happens. Our ASA director won't classify any team "B" until after all star teams are selected and play in their district tournament. Down here, that is what a "B" team is, at least in ASA. So odd to me how it can be so different within the same state. Oh well, maybe they'll just be cannon fodder for the "A" teams?

I have noticed that more this year in 14's, than last year. The A tournaments up here so far are predominantly B teams. One in particular has 13 total teams, 3 of those are A (or pseudo A).

Maybe the landscape will change as the season goes on?

I just don't understand how it can be handled so differently. Are those "B" teams going to "B" state and Nats?

Apparently the draw for this tournament was done on the 1st...Any one have the results of the pool draw?

Some may, but some are signed up for A qualifiers. One B team has signed up for a metro that they aren't even in. :?

Sorry to jack the thread. I've changed my mind. For the Bomber, it's all Freeze Blue baby!!!!!! :D

Has anyone on here ever seen them play? I haven't listed my picks simply becuase I have only seen about 5 of these teams play. Has the EP Crush played and beaten any of the teams on the list?

You have to realize that nobody from North, Central, or South Texas would have any way to know anything about a team from El Paso. The only thing they have to go on is the VTD and that team is listed as a "B" team on that site. Most "B" teams can't compete very well in a tournament with "A" teams, so that is why nobody is giving them a second thought. If they are indeed a good team, maybe they should be categorized in accordingly.

Sorry I'm late...

The Crazy 8's are the non HS playing Hawks and Peppers welded together into 1 big squad. I saw them 3 weeks ago split into 2 squads and playing either one was like having your choice of being hung or having your throat cut.

Whomever takes them on will have a game on their hands.

The Crazy 8's in the Bomber Shootout is the same kind of team, but from North Texas.
