what are the hottest bats for the 09 season

DD uses the a 06 Synergy & a 06 Catalyst but has always favored the Synergy. It is a much smoother bat to swing due to the weigt distribution. It is much more balanced. But as of late she has switched over to the Catalyst. She has gotten much stronger over the past year & is able to handle the bats that are more end heavy without the weight effecting her swing. Just took off the wrapper to her new 08 Rocket Tech.

I just ordered my DD a techzilla. I haven't seen very many used in my neck of the woods, but most everyone on HB seems to be impressed with them. Is $159.99 w/free shipping about what I should have paid for the 2009 model?

Your gonna love it!! Remember, it takes about 50-100 balls to break it in. You will hear the difference. Great choice.....

Lannie: All good here....it will be 60 degrees here over the weekend, which should take care of most of this weeks snow.

DD starts school practice on Monday....the team is very oversubscribed, so there will be quite a few disappointed kids.....This winter the pitching coach has been working with DD on the drop curve and she just got it about 3 weeks ago.....she's been throwing 3x week (pitching lesson, a group lesson and once with day), so that's motre than enough to be in good shape for Spring.

Softball aside, it's hard to pass up an Ivy League education, usless that west coast school you refer to is Stanford. West Point is a cold place in the Winter - my office is 20 min away from there.

Yeah I believe so. The ASA stamp says '04 but so do all the other ASA stamps including other brands. Is that the last year ASA tested or what? Not sure what that means.

DD used to hit with 05 RT, had great response with it (yes, even as a slapper) but I got her the TZ last summer. She never felt comfortable with it (meaning she didn't hit well, nothing wrong with the bat) so she started using the teams stealth. Great bat, she loved it but it finally broke so she was stuck. She finally picked up the TZ again a few weeks ago in a tournament and had two hits almost go yard. Result, the TZ is her favorite bat now, funny how that works. After going though roughly 6 bats in 3 years I have finally determined that she can hit with anything, it's just mental for her. Once she gets it into her head that the bat is the problem, she thinks it's time for me to spend another $300 on a new bat. Not anymore!

I agree with Lefty's Dad. I spent lots of money on new bats before. I bought one of his DD used bats about a 1 and a half years ago for $50. My 6th grader still uses it. This weekend same bat she hit 1 out of the park home run, 1 in the park home run, 2 triples, 2 doubles, and 3 singles. So if your looking for a hot bat maybe ask Lefty's Dad if he has anymore sitting in a closet or a bat bag.

I agree about the Ivy ed, but that trip to NY took the wind out of my sails. Man that is a different cold up that way....... Other than the bone chilling cold we really enjoyed ourselves. I guess us southern people are not meant to live in the sub artic environment...lol
No its not Stanford on the left coast, I cant say at this time which one it is, but your close...... There are some pro's shipping her off that far away, but not getting to see her play unless they tour the east coast weighs heavily on Mom and Mom has to be happy! I dont think I could deal with 4 years of CSTV game tracker sitting beside Mom.

LOL, that's awesome! I'm happy for your DD Fof3, she's a great athlete and glad she's doing well with that bat. I WISH I had more to sell but alas I only have one bat left, an 05 RTand at this point and it's dead.

Lannie ... If your DD doesn't like the cold and snow ... and gym practices ... she better stay south or west ... DD is in NY and she loves it ... but, they have only had 1 outside practice prior to this week ... they've done some conditionings outside but have only gotten on the field once ... they have an indoor facility but its not the same ... again, DD loves it and is considering a transfer further North ... and two further South ...

Anderson Bat Question ... what I'm reading on the Rocket Tech refers to it 'flexing' ... but I'm not seeing that description on Techzilla ... Does the Rocket Tech flex ? And does the Techzilla flex ? Are they 2 piece construction ? No one on our team uses either so I have limited expossure to the bats ... Mainly Easton Bats, but not sure about the Clarity and might need to jump ship ...

Lannie: CSTV or Gametracker isn't the best to "watch" a game, but it's about the only technology available currently...there are other servises out there, but they're in the testinfg stages ("Youth Sports Live" is a webcam based model for parents/grandparents to watch Cal Ripken/ Babe Ruth games and they did a beta test last summer with some LL softball games).....this will be the model to work in the fuy\ture as the subscription price is not very high.

DD had outside practice yesterday as it was in the 50's.....may be in the gym today as it will only get to the upper 40's, but we're playing softball and moved the clocks ahead, so Spring will be hear very soon !!

We all look forward to the announcement when you can let us know where she decides to go to school.
