Sometimes my t-shirts turn into mid fits after a bunch of washings and dryings...
That's why I prefer the xxxl's, so they always cover my belly no matter how many times I wash and dry them.

One missed key stroke = days of regret. Though it is never good to assume and I don't think any of us can truly know what C77 is thinking, I think it is clear he/she meant "misfit".
It is important to remember how all of this started. C77 feels that the internet and various instructional media is a superior replacement to individual instruction. He went on to claim college softball programs are backwards for employing hitting and pitching instructors claiming they were as "old fashion" and "backwards" as any moron (me specifically) that would waste hard earned money on the individual instruction that so many of us feel is vital to our athete's success.
As much fun as it is to pick on someone's grammar or complete mismatch in an intillectual dispute, his opinion that started this thread leaves a wealth of dialog opportunity.

My guess is most of the great private instructors gather info from the internet to enhance their teaching/coaching. My guess is their effectiveness to teach/coach is comprehensive; they've learned from previous coaches, and continue learning through clinics, seminars, videos, etc.
In this day and age (Information Era), one would hope a great private instructor, great travel coach, great HS coach, great college coach, etc., resorts to multiple ways of teaching/coaching. One would think...
And lastly, slapperdad, I'd enjoy being your AD someday!

Never bought a skills/instruction video. However there was this one hitting coach that we dumped after a month.
That money would have been better spent on a video or just watching instruction online.

With the exception of David Lauck who is very transparent, we all mostly hide behind the curtain of disclosure. Therefore, history of the actual author and that author's past experience whether successful or unsuccessful will also remain unknown. Credibility of statements will always have added reservations and continue to be challenged. I seem to pay attention to those respondents who might hint at coaching travel/HS ball, having a player who played HS ball, hint at that same player who played on a high level travel team and hinted about having added expereince playing in college. Sorry "DD" does not do enough for me. While I understand staying anonymous , its too bad there is not some added credentilas of the writer included such as...

Let me take a moment to respond to the OP.
YES, you can get by and improve and go to next level by learning on line and videos.
Personally we did not always have the money to pay for hitting instruction.
The knowledge both she and I gained in lessons was used when we practiced.
She also went through 5 hitting instructors before finding the one who had both knowledge and the correct measure to push and correct.
I on the other hand had to find a way to help her get better, while not creating a hate relationship of over correcting when we did not have the extra disposable money for hitting lessons. So if you did go this video/on line instruction route, it can be done for the most part. You would want a hitting coach to give third party advise when needed for reassurance.
The one tool you will also need is to video her practicing for review and compare.
One of the best or most interesting critique lessons she got was online. It was on Heybucket
Where I just asked.
I submitted a practice video and asked.. Insta-lesson. (thank you Mark H).
