Indiana Signings

by Canocorn » Sun Jan 25, 2009 10:57 pm

Along the lines with recruiting and Bucketboy's discussion, is were they go. What about Indiana signings over the past couple of years. I know in a couple of instances where they signed with a program they really wanted, but could have signed with "big" D1 schools.

Bell - UK
Mel - Texas A&M
Lewis -U Tennessee-Martin
Music - Southern Illinois
Maloof - Dayton
Esparza - Butler
Petruzzi - Purdue
Marcum - ISU
The entire Pendleton High School Team :)
Another kid signed with UK.
The pitcher from around Lafayette went to L-ville.

Correction- Music to Illinois State

It is Chelsea Held that went to Southern Illinois which was covered in the entire Pendleton Heights team and as a side note Owens to Georgia even though shed didn't play high school ball her last two years.

The 2010's are getting deals done right now so expect many more verbals in the months ahead from that class. One that was in the paper Friday was Amanda Korb from Lutheran verbaled to Valpo.

The two players from the Dreams that joined Bell at UK were Silence and O'Haver. Sander's from the Blaze and Tecumseh is signed to Ball State.

Evans to Indiana State along with I know a couple of other central Indiana kids in the 2009 class.

I know I have missed a bunch so help us out here.

Amanda Korb verbaled to Valpo without talking to the coach, because Valpo is a D1 and college coachs can't have contact till after July 1 after your Junior year. D2 is afterJune 15 after your Junior year.

Huh? I am sure just like all the 2010's that are making verbals they drove up there and met with the coach because when you are on campus you can talk to the coach. The family has to pick up the cost of the trip and any meals. She mas made an offer and since her older sister plays there and it is a Lutheran school and they are Lutheran's she made a verbal committment. She could have received the offer thru email also as coaches can email a recruit direct after September 1st of their junior year and a recruit can call a coach and if they answer they can talk all they want. The coach can't return any phone calls if the recruit leaves a message. I know she talked to the coach on several occasions before

Most of the kids that are listed in my above post all verballed long before July 1st of their junior year by driving to the campus and meeting with the coach, emailing back and forth or calling the coach to talk.

She may not get the recognition as some pitchers in the state, but Sara Evans has been a thorn in our side during the fall and winter...and a couple of games we have hit her hard...she just keeps making quality pitches and never gets rattled...not to mention a pretty darn good hitter herself...she has always been a class act, as have the rest of the Chix and their coaches when we've played them. I hope she finds success at ISU. I also hope we can get some revenge on her and the Chix this summer.

Looking in, you have me there...we have had the Chix on the ropes a couple games, but they have always delivered the knock out...Sara has pitched out of jams, and they can hit...good team and we always look forward to playing them...again, hopefully this summer we can exact some revenge. I hope we get some more responses to Canocorn's request about Indiana signings. If possible can we list their current travel team if known. This way if our team is getting our heads kicked in at least I'll know who is doing the kicking.
