What To Wear To High School Games

What's on your mind?

by Tucson » Tue Jan 20, 2009 4:36 pm

When the kids were in HS, very few men wore HS colors to any games. If all of the family members got that stuff on, you would look rather cheesy. Now, if it was the IL. state basketball tournament, anything goes.

But to a HS softball game? I think I sometimes wore the shirt that the girls sold, but I certainly did not wear the travel ball shirt.

My kids each had a jr. high jacket that is really warm. I wear that to football, etc., just because we have 3 of them and they are indestructible. They aren't letterman's jackets, they are wind breakers, with a hood.

I think if you are over 50, you can safely wear the team colors without threat of getting a rock thrown at you.

No way bro.

I like visiting softball parents in their native habitat every once in awhile. I like knowing what you guys really think and think about.

Hey, don't kill the messenger. We just want to fit in with these people. We suffered through what they call "fall ball" here and the only thing everyone seemd to agree on was to laugh at the dad who showed up every week dressed in the get-up of some hick Div. I in the South I had never heard of . . . . the only thing he was missing was facepaint!

Then for your area this should suffice.

What about the fat umpires changeing in the parking lot.And of course, they always have to have special parking close to the field so you cant miss them. Now that's tacky!

I agree! You should demand we have locker rooms at every field, especially tournaments locations when we only have 15 mins between games. With Air conditioning. And cable for our breaks. We dont wanna watch some game, we wanna watch TV. So you should also demand more time between games, TV, AC, and Locker rooms! You dont have to take this stuff! Stand up for our rights! Are we not people for chrisakes?!?! Are umpires not equal? Maybe even a little more equal than some others?!?!

And um, subway sammichs!!

You should demand we all get free subway sammiches at the parks.

That is a helluva idea you have. Good thinking!

Hey, um while youre at it, a bunch of the guys asked me to ask you to demand free beer for the end of the day for. I told em it was too much, you already taking up a great cause on our behalf. But they demanded I ask you so here goes...

Free beer!

As Wade mentions, times between games are usully about fifteen minutes. Umpires that are working serveral games in a row during tournament play can transition from plate attire to base attire much quicker when parking is close to the fields.

No Way, Bro: Part Deux:

Any thread with a title as genius as this has the potential to be an HB Classic, and should never be prematurely aborted!

As to the OP, wear what you wear to work. It will look like you care enough to skip out of the office early to catch your kids game.

Unless of course you work at a strip club, or some Sammie Joint fattening up The Blue! :o
Don't worry about tomorrow. You did that yesterday.
