12u Fall tryouts-Who are favorites & sleepers going forward?

Basing things on how they played as the end of season and what the rumor mill says about who went where I would think things line up about like this to start. Only time will tell, everyone looks good on paper.

1. Breeze 01: Picked up the best 01 pitcher around. This team was getting stronger as the year went on and just got a lot better.

2. Foothill Gold 01: Very strong core. Pretty much stayed intact. Should be solid all season

3. LTG Lions: Best 01 team all season. Lost a few very important pieces. This team has slipped a few but with time should prove they belong in the top 3 to 5

4. OBS Monarchs Cat: A little movement here but kept the majority of the key players. #1 pitcher is still there. This team will compete well

5. KG Hitters: I was told Baptista took this team over. If the core stayed this team will be strong. Good coach with a proven history

6. Lady Spartans: Spartans were up and down all season. They have shown they can play with the better team and will compete well all season

7. San Jose Sting: I honestly never was able to see this team play. I have been told good things from those I trust. The org has a good history of putting strong teams on the field

8. AASA Richardson: I was told their #1 pitcher left. Hopefully tryouts were nice to them or this team could slip out in a few short tourneys. Always pretty strong this last season.

9. Sorcerers:Another org with a proven history. This team got better all season if they kept the core together this group will be just fine.

10. Nor Cal Elite Boykin: Matt has always put together good team. Heard a rumor that one of the pitchers from Grapettes Ervin might have landed there. That could be a good thing for them


Honorable Mentions

Team California I would not put a start up team in the top 10 teams however the rumor is this team has put in place some very solid player from a number of different teams. It will take a bit to get them to play and trust each other but this team should be top 5 by the end of fall.

AA Mizuno Stewart I am hearing this team is having a hard time putting something together. Hopefully the move to AA didn’t kill a good Roseville Heat team. It is hard enough to compete at tryouts with all of the other teams in the area yet alone those in your own org. Good Luck

Grapettes Ervin I am hearing this team is no longer. I hope Slice can get something together. Robert is a great coach who makes players better. Unfortunately many have a hard time dealing with his style.

AA Mizuno Ybarra Rumor is this team is gone as well. It is too bad AA couldn’t put the coaches of the 3 01 teams they were trying to do together and actually put a team on the field that will represent. Looks like AA killed this one

If the rumors are correct I was told Breeze 01 picked up Red the #1 pitcher from Foothill Gold 00. Only 01 in the area to throw 55+ a few others are close but not there yet.

Coach of TC has coached in the past. He coaches with Michele Granger at Granite Bay High School. Knows the game very well this will be a good addition to Team CA

Ahhh, now I see why people haven't mentioned the TC coach or why it hasn't been posted to the website. That coach that you speak of has quite the past from what I have read, heard and seen. It also makes sense why LTG lost some pieces. Guess R.C. was onto something. Best of luck to all of them this upcoming season...I appreciate the rankings Louie

I usually agree with Louie on alot of his rankings. I would still have LTG #1. Also the pitcher from OBS has hit 55-56 on the gun. I know because I have gunned her. I would put Breeze #2 and Gold #3. AASA lots both pitchers one aged up and the other went to the Lions. SJ Sting was a mixed team so who knows. The rest is a crap shoot. Good luck to you all this fall.

Thanks for the information Louie. It's shaping up to be a great Fall. I haven't seen a few of these top 10 teams play yet; can't wait! I'm sure there are a few sleepers out there waiting to prove themselves worthy of a top 10 list.

Oh how much fun it is to try and stir up the past and create problems when you are not the one being put on blast. I have sat back and read the stuff in the past along with the things of late towards our coaches and honestly I am just tired of it. This game is about being able to enjoy something with our families that will not be here for them forever. Enjoy this time with your daughters and stop the hate it will be over earlier than we all want. Every coach has their haters and it is unfortunate that many of those haters feel it is fun to try and tear good people down on a public forum. I have yet to see a coach who is not talked about in a negative light by someone which makes me wonder why these people are crazy enough to coach but I will say thank you.

Yes I have never posted here but I will say from someone who was on Mizuno RC and currently still with LTG I know first hand the situation you speak of was a rumor made up by an upset players parent who was upset over play time on Mizuno. The rumor was Coach Ken was starting a team and recruiting all of the Mizuno players. Obviously that was wrong it never happened. I will leave it at that.

I would also like to add Coach Ken has supported both teams we have been on together with as much respect as everyone. Ken had many chances to recruit or talk to anyone on our team this season about playing for him and did not. He respected our team and coaches and showed more class than many in the softball world ever have. Coach Ken knows the game well and is a great teacher. We wish you and your new team the best.

Team California did exactly what they said they would. Never publicly released coaches names until after the PGF, Westerns and Nationals were complete. Personally I would like to say thank you to Team California for that. As a result our team was able to enjoy our time at PGF Nationals and never had to deal with the crap we might have if this had been public ahead of time. Though they tried to keep it under wraps out of respect for others if you didn't know who the coach was you are very out of the loop. Much respect to Team California and the new staff we look forward to seeing you on the field this fall.

From what I've been told the Breeze 02 has a chance to be a solid young team coming up.Also believe The Soartans will have something to say about who is #1 moving firward. That team seems to get better every time i see them.

I know the Breeze picked up some top notch 02 players and kept most of their core players. I Think they will be a better team than this summer but that doesn't necessarily mean they will win a lot of games. This Fall will be a big learning curve for them because of the better competition they will face against teams loaded with 01 players, playing with a bigger ball and pitching from a further distance.
