As the numerous articles said, homes in their neighborhood had been broken into several times by young thug looking people, which Martin certainly looks like. As is obvious from things he did getting the older people to buy him what he needed to smoke dope, he was also somewhat high.
If I saw trayvon Martin in my neighborhood, (containing probably 80% Hispanic, probably 5% black), I would have kept him in sight until I identified him, and would have made damn sure that he knew I was watching him. I most likely wouldn't have carried a gun (though he would probably have thought I was) one text anyway and everyone in my neighborhood would have locked and loaded. If you want to call that "stalking" fine, I call it trying to make sure my neighborhood is safe. The world of political correctness is not a world I live in or will ever, but enjoy your time there.

Stalk - to pursue quarry or prey stealthily. Are you suggesting he intended to shoot him?

Martin would still be alive if he had done any one of the following:
- Continued to where he was staying. Entering the home would have shown he belonged there.
- Answered Zimmerman's question about what he was doing there.
- Not assaulted Zimmerman.

Donnie, Im anything but politically correct. If Martin had been in your neighborhood, he wouldnt have died. The cops would have showed up and this never happens.

The only thing that gave Zimmerman the "courage" to confront Martin in spite of being told to stay away was the gun that he had. It was Zimmerman's bad luck that Martin was not afraid of him.

Like it or not, thug or not, Martin had every right to be where he was and he had no obligation to answer questions from anyone not wearing a badge. If Martin had ignored Zimmerman and kept going, he may not have been shot, but given Zimmerman's need to confront Martin, do you believe Zimmerman would have let it go?

Yes, I believe Zimmerman would have followed him until he got to his supposed designation, and then gone back to his vehicle. Zimmerman, to many people's great disappointment, is not a gun happy quick drawing shooter, the proof of that - is that the gun was never pulled until the punk was on top of Zimmerman beating him into the pavement. It truly blows me away that so many keep defending Martin, when he was so obviously a very troubled punk with the exact past that Zimmerman was worried about and I would have been as well, while Zimmerman is a married guy with a job. But by the same token, OJ is still a hero to a lot of people, my only guess as to why, is that he killed white people.

WTF? Cops were there within 5-8 minutes of his first call to the police and 1-2 minutes after the shooting. BTW, GZ called a non-emergency line for the police to report TM. The 911 calls were after the confrontation.

The only thing that gave Zimmerman the "courage" to confront Martin in spite of being told to stay away was the gun that he had. It was Zimmerman's bad luck that Martin was not afraid of him.
There was conflicting testimony on whether GZ actually caught up to TM or TM came back and confronted him. The testimony by the girl on the phone with TM said TM confronted GZ about following him before GZ asked him why he was there.

The neighborhood was very mixed racially with 49% white, 23% hispanic and 20% black, so yes, GZ should have let it go if TM had said he was staying with a resident.

I am not defending Martin, I am saying Zimmerman was an idiot who created a situation he wasnt equipped to handle.

It takes two idiots to create an idiotic situation.....

And I think you and half the country are defending the child Martin, and if Zimmerman is an idiot for trying to protect his neighborhood by keeping close watch over a thug looking punk like I would have, then I am an idiot too.

Zimmerman had already called the cops. To say he was protecting the neighborhood is a stretch. Martin didnt break the law until he hit Zimmerman, who was an idiot for ignoring the advice of 911 to stay put and confronting someone he thought dangerous enough to justify carrying a gun.

Bottom line - this was avoidable if Zimmerman follows the advice that law enforcement always gives - which is to let them do their job.

The world is making this about race. Im making it about stupidity.

I know a few on this board that if I confronted them as Zimmerman confronted Martin, they would hit me.
