Bat Preference

What's on your mind?

by NorCalBaller123 » Thu Jul 18, 2013 8:09 am

What are your dd favorite bats? My dd has broken her Easton Stealth twice and now doesn't care for the replacement that Easton sent her. What about Worth 454 and Xeno? She is 13 yo. We are anxiously waiting for the new Easton and think that Arioto was swinging it last week at the World Cup games. Any insight on that one?

I would stay away from the 454. My DD has it and we don't care for it. It has no "pop" on it. I know a few girls that have it, many don't even use it in games anymore. A few have snapped at the handle. My DD's has a chip on the barrel. Yesterday I noticed brown stuff coming out of the chip. I assume its part of the composite/barrel. Now I have to look into getting it replaced by Worth.

My DD has broken her share of Stealths as well. Broke two Xenos. Started going easy on the third one when it started to get a slight wobble like the Stealths. Bought the DD a 454 right before the post season last summer. Broke it at the handle up in Illinois. Came home and sent it back and got it replaced. So far (knock on wood) it's lasted all the year long. Crossing my fingers that it lasts just a few more weeks until HS ball starts.

Kid likes the 454, took a while to warm up to it though, unlike the Xeno which she liked from the get go. But IMO.. they both suffer reliability problems. My kid is a slapper, 5' in spikes, and 100lbs dripping in sweat; so it's not like she's a 4 hole monster power hitter or anything like that.

Her favorites were hands down the Demarini Phenix, and the CF3. Phenix she outgrew, and the CF3 started cracking. I too am looking for something good for the kid.

Gotta hate when "brown stuff" comes out the tip

Find a SSR38 (white grip Stealth Speed), good pop and durable, unlike the garbage since then (purple grip white stealth and black/yellow stealth) both junk.

OR

Buy two Xeno's (serious pop)

A player on my dd's team broke hers at handle and so did my dd.
She just got 2014 454 Sick to replace. She is not sure how she likes it.

Would agree , yes! Best bat in my opinion ever made My dd swung a CF3 for 4 yrs and had great success, not just with performance but with longevity.
It is when she went to a 34" that we now have the issues.
I see further, because I stand on the shoulders of giants

DD loved her Phenix (34" drop 8) switched to to CF4 her senior year in HS in prep for college(also a 34) I think she now uses a I think a CF5(school provide) They switched her to a 33 drop 10 for better bat control with the off-speed stuff

She has broken two of the Stealth Purple with white grip this year. Now swinging the brigade black (ugh) she received from Easton and a 454. Both are actually working well but she misses the Stealth. Hoping the new Easton will resemble the purple one.

We may have to look at the Xeno or Demarini but she has always been an Easton girl so isn't too open to others. Funny how these girls are about their bats.

Absolutely agree, but DD never liked the CF4 as much and went with the Xeno. First bat that she ever had that made it past one year. Took it to college where it performed just as well in the cold as it did in the heat, and she used it for a full season. Just bought the replacement last month.
