1) healthcare represents 1/6 the economy
2) Obamacare would take over 100% of healthcare(which it would not)
Current medicare/caid is already 5% of GDP
Even if true it is not a
dramatic wholesale changes to the fabric of our Republic.
Healthcare is a major issue and will become a bigger issue going forward. The country needs to figure out how to pay for it and how to best handle it. Obamcare is a response to that need. I think it was(and is) the wrong one. Not because I fear a Governemnt takeover etc, but because it was not well thought out, shoved through congress without real debate or negotiation, did not address most of the issues, and appears will wind up costing us more. I think the intent was good natured, but terribly executed. IMO There are examples of government/private health systems that work much better than ours and at a much lower cost(Germany/Japan) the Canadian govt system is decent(but for a far smaller population)
I think the thing all could agree was that the previous/current system was not working
