Well, my truck doesn't have On'star, I have a dumb phone, and my dog doesn't have a chip, nor does my dd.
Never had my kid on a leash either.,,,,However what you say about giving up rights at the sake of security,,,no one would have to know,,,or would they??? I would say that would be the bigger issue with a tracker chip.
After all if the wrong people had access to that information there would be no privacy.
As for self defense,,my dd can handle herself, we have discussed with her about being always aware of her surrounding, and watching her drink at parties. After all Evil comes in all forms.

I'm not a uber super computer geek nerd conspiracy nut...I do work some with computer security, and understand its implications, current capabilities and even scarier, what it will be able to do in the future. Assigning a biometric tracking device to someone given the future (current) capabilities and possibilities are endless...for great things and not so great things.
Knowledge is power, so lets say, imagine someone knows every step you take, your mood, even your thoughts in the future...
Big brother already tracks pretty much everything we do on the net...using key words, phrases.....

Google it seems tracks everything you do, you search, everywhere you go....with Google glasses everything you see...and stores it...Do they? or don't they? You decide...every phone picture, every video,...every text, every word you say on the phone?...who has access to that? Now tie that into a device implanted inside you...

Agree with most if not all of what you said, the real scary point about this is there are very few things that the government gets correct. The decisions that the government makes with the information they have now - are incorrect the majority of the time. So - go away. Like you, I have chipped my dog, but it will stop there. Unless I get another dog.
