The Jr is carrying the load. Barbers Hill is very very good, and their pitcher is 1st team All Greater Houston as is Foster's Jr pitcher. I'm not sure which team should be on top but we'll find out in May.

5. New Caney
6. Little Cypress Mauriceville
7. Corpus Christi Moody
8. Aledo

17. Elgin
18. Birdville
19. Nederland
20. Forney

HM:

Montgomery, Vidor, Port Neches-Groves, Ennis, Lockhart, Lucas Lovejoy, Leander and Tuloso Midway

Comments: Richmond Foster is playing well winning four of five at CY Fair with wins over Cy Creek, Atascocita and Kingwood Park in the gold Bracket while Barber’s Hill is 16-1 with a loss to Oak Ridge. Little Cypress Mauriceville is 15-4 after a tense 1-0 district road win at Livingston on a one hitter by Raven Cole. In one of the top early season games, LCM and Dripping Springs played 11 innings of a double no hitter between Cole and Brandi Needham of Dripping Springs who prevailed on an ITB in the eleventh inning. Nederland is 12-5 with an impressive 16-3 win over Vidor while Port Neches-Groves is 11-5. Aledo had a big win over Dripping Springs. Weatherford is 10-2 with wins over McKinney Boyd and Brenham. Moody is 6-1 and turned some heads at Brenham tournament where the Lady Trojans beat then 5A #3 San Antonio O’Connor and barely lost to 5A #2 Pearland 3-1. Hanks softball finished 2 in Midland tournament. Victories over Andrews, Coahoma, Monahans, Odessa High, Fort Stockton. Only loss was to Midland Lee.

There are 5 teams in 4A. In no particular order: LCM, Aledo, Dripping Springs, Foster, BH. The others pretend to play.

I have enjoyed this thread..one thing for sure is there are a lot of opinions! My two cents... Most of the top contenders have numerous girls who play year round and walked into the season "field ready". I am willing to bet most schools dont have a starting nine of that caliber so my guess is that those schools (with the pitching) that can develop those "other" players will be the team that takes it all.

Agree on your 5, and of those, who has the coaching to get them to Austin? I've seen LCM and Foster and would give the nod to LCM, but what about the rest?

Based on last year, I would give the coaching nod to LCM. They did loose a big playmaker and leadoff with the senior centerfielder, but from their scores, it seems they may have overcome. With that said, these are 5 solid teams and it will come down to the team (includes coach) that makes the fewest mistakes.
