Boys at the ball park

WOW! ... we have really drifted from the OP ... but as far as training goes, although I am not an advocate of the everyday and birthday schedule ... a few years back I had one DD playing HS Soccer and one playing HS Softball ... their practices lasted about the same length of time, but when the soccer player came home she was whipped while the softball player could have gone out and played two ... most Coaches don't make softball very physically challenging for their players or have a rigorous schedule ... but to get back to the original post, this HS would have a hard time fielding a Softball Team if the field wasn't side by side with the baseball field ... not my DD's, but many are there because they think the boys are watching ...

Neither am I but certain situations can dictate exceptions. And they have. And since that horrible child-abusing day when I made her pitch on her birthday, she hasnt missed a pitching workout, even coming into my office to get me. Had she waited a half hour on the day before her birthday to take a nap, and came outside to pitch when she was supposed to, she wouldnt have had to go through that scarring experience.

There are plenty of people out there who half-ass the pitching work, if she and I are going to do it, we are going to do it properly. If not, there is a fine community college in our town that has educated some of the best people I know. Her choice.

Hold on thar Don-Dog ... in my previous post I said that she is your DD and you do as you see fit ... I know there are plenty of peeps that roll their eyes at the crapola I put my 5 DD's through ... however, the fact that we are here talking about it shows how much we care ... and your method, ( although not the same as mine ) with your DD, seems to have turned her in the desired direction and received the desired results ... so I say good job! ....

g-man, you may be early on the 'good job'. She is the youngest of my 5, each kid has been challenging, to say the least, oldest is 34, and this one at 15. I hope the world is ready for this darling child.

I will take the 'good job' when this one has conquered the world, marries a nice young man who treats her like the princess she is and is producing grandbabies for me (in that order). However, this is also the one that at age 4, I caught dancing on the coffee table in the living room in her birthday suit.

Well D-dog ... we had 3 without trying then tried to have one more and had 2 instead ... the oldest is 23 ..then 21 , 19 and the Zacklies are 17 ... but, you are right, they are all like snowflakes ... all different and all special ... even the table dancers ! LOL ! ... so what if my 19 year old knows how to write her name in the snow ...
... maybe the nice young man she marries will be a "Boy at The Ballpark"

Back to the Op... Before graduating and heading off with Uncle Sam, my son was softball's biggest fan. He rarely missed a tournament and I get up pretty early to head out. He would always make sure I would wake him up so he could go, um, watch. I'm not sure how he occupied himself all day...

GIMNEPIWO: I'm very impressed DD can write her name in the snow.....I know mine would love to do exactly that.......the pedeatrician warned us on our one of our 1st visits that "this one will be a handful" and is she ever spot one......wouldn't trade it for anything however.....I just pity my future son-in-law; the kid has not chance.
