Any other teams having this problem? Or is it just 10u?

What's on your mind?

First, let me start off by saying, any team that host a friendly has my respect. Hosting a friendly is hard work. Scheduling teams, buying product for the snack bar, prepping fields etc.....The list is long, you get my drift. In the past 3 weeks four 10u friendly's, have been cancelled at the last minute. Leaving our team and I'm guessing several other teams scrambling for games. If we had notice maybe we could had procured fields and played each other, but some of these teams dropped the morning of the game.

I know it's not the host teams fault. It just so disappointing that it happening so much.

What's going? Are other age division having the same problem? I'm starting to feel like there is a secret handshake or something to get in a friendly and I don't know it :)

Any thoughts?

Teams that cancel friendlies or tournaments at the last minute for no real good reason should be exposed, that will stop it. When no one signs up for a friendly that they are really planning on hosting maybe they will think twice about canceling it next time.

The organizations throwing the friendlies should not let those teams back in the future. That will stop it from happening real fast. Especially in 10u cause there ain't many teams hosting 10u this season anyway!

I host friendlies about every two month's and to tell you the truth I have more problems with 12u teams dropping out, seams like every time at the last min, I do keep a mental note of the teams that do that to us, your right, it is alot of work and when someone drops it put us in a hard spot.
I understand that things come up but just because the coaches dd cant make the game doesn't mean you should not show up with your team even when i offered a replacement player for them, It's all practice. its easy to get a player at the last min, but not a team
I am thinking about precharge teams so they would stop dropping,
Anyway I love 10u teams, I would like it to be all 10u team in my friendlies so come on out.
