The rest of the 5A poll:
HM:

Klein Collins, Cypress Fairbanks, Baytown Sterling, South Grand Prairie, Plano East, Hebron, San Antonio Holmes, Katy, Edinburg, El Paso Americas, Lubbock Coronado, Alvin, Manvel and Round Rock Stony Point.

Comments: Westlake won the Westlake tourney 4 wins 1 loss. They lost to Georgetown 5-1 as the Eagles scored five in the seventh inning but Westlake was very solid on defense in the other games beating The Woodlands 4-1 with Lindsey McLeod pitching the entire game and giving up 4 hits in 7 innings. Westlake beat Westwood 2-1, New Braunfels 5-2 and 6-3 over Waco Midway. Flower Mound Marcus finished the Forney Tournament this weekend undefeated with their starting pitcher Hannah Null notching 38 strikeouts in 15 innings and not allowing an earned run. Null also hurled a perfect game in a run rule win over Rowlett 14-0. Katy Cinco Ranch is 5-1 with an impressive start but depth might be an issue. Cinco Ranch beat Aldine MacArthur 15– 0 and George Ranch 3– 2 then lost to Jersey Village 4-1 before rebounding with wins over Klein 3 – 1, Houston Stratford 14– 2 and Klein Collins 3– 1. Overall Cinco Ranch is strong and with Kayla Ober on the mound as good as anyone as Ober is 5-0 with 31 strikeouts and two earned runs while batting seven for 15 with 11 runs batted in but the falloff in reserves leaves Cinco Ranch vulnerable.

The district with Marcus, FM, Lewisville and Hebron is one of the strongest in NT along with the district that has the Plano schools. Null is the real deal. Saw her pitch twice this year. She doesnt throw very hard but really moves the ball around and keeps batters off balance. FM starts several D1 committs as does Hebron and Lewisville has a freshman pitcher that can really bring it. Never count out Denton Ryan. They are pretty good every year. Those two districts should be fun to watch.

Austin/RR/Centex roundup: Westlake blanked by Smithson Valley, 6-0; that's 2 losses for Westlake now; look for SV to jump them in the state poll. Don't underestimate the Lake, though, as their pitching ace isn't pitching due to tendonitis and the subs are carrying the load. Offense is a concern however. Bowie bounced back nicely from opening day loss to Hays; quality win over 4A Dripping Springs and all-state pitcher Needham by an eye-opening 10-0 margin; followed that up with a 16-0 shellacking of Vista Ridge; tied Cedar Ridge 3-3; Bowie's star Perez getting on track = watch out! Round Rock, went down to Dripping Springs, 1-0; plus losses in the BCS tourney. Lake Travis with suspect losses in BCS tourney. Cedar Ridge some tough results but still in the mix. Right now, it's a tossup as to which area teams will solidify in time to challenge the region II schools from Houston. Best bet is still Westlake and RR; outside looking in = Bowie, LT, CR ... but stay tuned.

Congrats to the BIG SHOW!!!!!! Looks like she is on track and in full swing. Has she given a run up yet???? I bet there won't be a seat in the house when Deer Park plays Pearland in the Pearland Tournament. You can bet I will be there even if I have to catch the Blue flu if it is a early game. :o :D

Yes, 1 run (a HR against CC Moody), 39.1 innings, 7 - 0, 9 hits, 9 walks, 1 earned run and 67 strike outs, not that I been keeping up with her stats but Gamechanger has. It should be a very good game Coach, I will be sure to come over and say hello. Maybe even buy you a hot dog?? What did you mean by the Blue flu?
If it ain't broke, why fix it??
