I bet Miss Wright, Ober, Rupp, Clark, and several others might have something to say about that.

Not sure I have the right kids, but are those really unknown? Isn't one of them a catcher? For that matter, why are we calling Miller unknown?

I'm not sure who knows who, but if you think one is a catcher, I guess you don't know her.

Notice that Mansfield Legacy and Tomball don't make the cut. Also take note that he has Rockwall, a 12-5A school listed. Check out the rest of his list at http://www.austintgca.com/softball/polls.html

Thanks for posting. I believe that Waco Midway is now in 5-A district 8?

Edit: Upon checking the updated rankings, it appears the correction was made.

Foster and Moody drop out, Waxahachie and Nederland come in and it's still preseason (I didn't mention BH, because every one knows they should have been there to begin with), what happened? Montgomery remains 3 after losing IMO the best player in the nation (did you see what she did in LA? Gig'em)

I saw some good softball the last three days in Brenham and several of the teams I saw were 4A, 3A and 2A. I was very impressed by #7 ranked LaGrange and they are 3A. They are going to have a good year. Brenham, Santa Fe, CC Moody, Clear Creek and Cedar Park were all very scrappy teams and some of these should be seeing each other in the playoffs for 4A. I am not dissing any of the other teams that played in brenham the last three days as these are the ones in our pod and the only ones I saw play. Good Luck to everybody as district gets cranked up in a week or so.
If it ain't broke, why fix it??

Great. It had good competition, friendly volunteers, very good concessions and the daughters had a great time! I was not able to go on Saturday, and I don't know if there were any surprises. Play on Thursday was limited due to the wet fields. Only 2 of the 5 fields were playable. This cancelled the Ennis-Rider game which a lot of people really wanted to see. Ennis did look very good in the game that I was able to catch part of. Most of the games that I saw were competitive, so I had a great time. Hallsville looked solid. I did not see Waxahachie or Forney.

Class 4A
1. Burleson
2. Birdville
3. Wichita Falls Rider
4. Barbers Hill
5. Mansfield Legacy
6. Montgomery
7. Elgin
8. Vidor
9. Waxahachie
10. Forney
11. Port Neches-Groves
12. Nederland
13. Georgetown
14. Little Cypress Mauriceville
15. Lockhart

HM: Ennis, Lucas Lovejoy, Richmond Foster, Corpus Christi Moody, Leander and Tuloso Midway.

Comments: Wichita Falls Rider stepped up at the power packed Forney tournament. Rider opened the season by beating Vernon 9-0 then won five and tied one at Forney. Rider and McKinney played to a 3-3 tie then Rider beat: Corsicana 3-2, Canyon 10-0, Frisco Wakeland 9-1 and North Forney 6-3. Vidor is off to another sizzling start beating Little Cypress Mauriceville 9-7 in the finals of the LCM tournament. LCM went 5-1 to start the season beating Beaumont Kelly 17-0, Orangefield 5-1, Lumberton 16-0, Crosby 11-7 and Bridge City 3-0 before losing to Vidor who had beaten West Orange Stark, Crosby, Bridge City, Orangefield and LCM. Barbers Hill beat Port Neches-Groves 4-2 but PNG rebounded to win four of five with wins over Dickinson 10-0, Pasadena Rayburn 1-0, Goose Creek 4-2 and rival Nederland 5-4 who had a tough week with three wins and losses to Barbers Hill and PNG. Barbers Hill Eagles are 6-0 with wins over: Clear Springs (6-0), Port Neches-Groves (4-2), Goose Creek Memorial (7-0), Nederland (5-0), Dickinson (8-0) and Pasadena Sam Rayburn (18-0) at the Barbers Hill softball tournament. Hard telling for sure down in southeast Texas but Vidor and PNG look sharp while traditional powers LCM and Nederland are just starting to roll into playing shape. Should be a fun spring. Powerhouse Forney is struggling with injuries and looks good overall but off a bit without their ace while Burleson claimed a tournament title to take over the top spot. Mansfield Legacy pounded most of a strong field in the Mansfield tournament beating Bowie -3, tying 5A muscle Keller 2-2 then beating SGP 4-3, Arlington 9-2 and Vista Ridge 5-0. Legacy can go to stud pitcher Kendell Potts carrying a lot of the load for them. I see them going very far in playoffs and Kendell being one of top 4A pitchers in Texas. Lockhart is 5-2 with wins over: Victoria West 10-0, Medina Valley 10-0, La Vernia 10-8, Floresville 11-0 and New Braunfels Canyon 5-4.
