UIL allows today, Feb 11, to be the start of interschool games. A school can play in 2 tournaments plus 20 games or 3 tournaments plus 17 games. If your district is like ours, the tournaments can be moot since we can't afford to travel farther than the local Quik Stop.

Is that true? If so, what happened?
Also see where Pearland's stud IF made the first and second team in the Chronicle and their #1 pitcher not even mentioned?
How does that happen?

What happened? Simple, 4A is better than 5A

We can play 20 games including 2 DH that count as 1 game and 3 tournaments that count as 2 games each, even though you play more than 2.
We start Feb. 23 and earound May, not counting playoffs that go until around the beginning of June and do not have playoffs that go any farther than our section so there is no "state champ"

Texas is geared to the state championship tournament May 29 - June 1 where the final 4 in each conference (1A thru 5A) play in a single elimination. In a state the size of Texas (or California), its huge to get to the final 4.

We play single games twice a week until we get to section finals.

Same here, two games a week, playoffs start April 23. So we basically are in playoffs, one round each week, until you make it to state finals the week of May 29. During each round, the playoff series can be one game or three, depending on what the coaches agree to, or if they can't agree, they flip to see who picks the number of games. Obviously if you are the weaker team, you want one game (for the chance of a freaky win), or if you are the stronger team, you want 3 games where your skill will eventually prevail.

I heard #1 pitcher was pulled after three innings with Pearland up 3 or 4 to 1. Is that true? Also heard that 1st base coach ran them out of the last inning with first/second team player up next down by one run. Is that true?

I'm sure coach was just working on things. After all, it's just a scrimmage. Do you think that's true?

If you are referring to Txfastptchcoach as congrats for a No No, that is not his daughter he referred to, and he is not from Pearland. He is a respected individual in the softball community who is just giving congrats to a very good athlete who did something special. By the way she is not my Daughter either and I congradulate her on a job well done.
