Texas High School 4A Softball

93players - thanks for the reply. Just based on what I have seen in ohio and read about its hard not to think that her old HS could have been a serious contender for state. Of course there are many factors too consider, so it's just hypothetical. She is absolutely one of the top pitchers in ohio, not sure about Texas. Nonetheless I wish her the best in Texas. Glad to know this talented pitcher is going back "home" to pitch for a college like UT .

Thanks
Mike

Thanks for posting. I believe that Waco Midway is now in 5-A district 8?

Edit: Upon checking the updated rankings, it appears the correction was made.

Montgomery prevailed over LCM with their catcher, but a smart coach would work the umpire issue before playing LCM and that pitching. Foster has the pitching too, but lost 2-1 and 2-0 to LCM so hitting must be the issue for them. To get to the final 4, a team can't have any holes in offense or defense. Kind of looking like a toss up! And I'll add at the risk of controversy, that any team that makes it out of Houston to the tourney in Austin, will probably win it all.

Nothing controversial, just the truth.

Birdville was beat yesterday by Mansfield HS 4-0.. I know it is just a scrimmage, but you know for a fact the the HS coaches are going out to win.

Upon my own checking I still see Rockwall and Manvel listed as a 4A schools. One would think that a journalist from an Austin newspaper would be able to figure out alignments created by the University of Texas.

Saw Montgomery and Barbers Hill at Dyess this weekend. Barbers Hill is definitely the mich better team. I realize that Montgomery was missing 2 starters to basketball but I think they lost a lot with their pitcher and their hitters to graduation.

From what I have seen in the pre season scrimmages, coaches have been moving players around, batting the line-up, trying different things etc. Almost like the showcases....its hard to gage actual success because they (at least the teams we have played) really arent playing to win.

Foster, Barbers Hill and Santa Fe should all be in the hunt when it counts if they stay healthy. SOLID teams.

I watched Santa Fe play last weekend in Alvin, both them and Alvin struggled to hit the ball in the game they played against each other.
