Unforgiven, few teams in Centex have made it past the second round after they changed the playoff system to play the Houston teams in Round 2 and 4.

Westlake and RR are overrated. They almost never get past second round of playoffs. (Wong @ Westlake is a star though and will help the Lake to a great regular season record; but playoffs is another matter.) Centex sleeper who deserves love: Cedar Ridge. Singleton best kept secret. Best Centex catcher last 3 yrs; SS in HS. Shows her athleticism. Merrill, the pitcher, is UTSA bound. They'll rock the Centex world this year. Other Austin schools to keep an eye on: Lake Travis and Bowie.

Westlake has 6 or 7 players committed to colleges so it is a pretty deep team in terms of offense and defense. They have 3 commited pitchers. Their 1/2 batters get on base every inning and steal bags. Cedar Ridge has several excellent players, especially the ones you name, but the team is not as deep as others. Some of the depth stayed at Stony Pt. I think Westlake and Stony play later this season.

Westlake pounded Canyon last night 15-6. Several homers and stolen bases every inning. Canyon has been tough the past 5 years. Either Westlake is pretty good or Canyon did not rebuild from last year.

I hear that the freshman pitcher for Deer Park is a A&M commit.

Westlake is good. Commits from LSU, Texas, A&M-CC, Penn, SFA helps.

A&M has one 2016 commit. She is not a pitcher and she does not go to DP.

I would agree that Pearland will be the team to Beat, but their #1 pitcher has to have a good year for them to be in the race.

Is there any doubt?

You would think the A&M commit would improve upon last year. Have to agree, they are # 1 until someone beats them.

Sure there is doubt. Neither newbies have had to carry the torch. Before thee proclaim the next savior, one must perform. Lets see how it goes for both teams, then crown the new pitchers.

I agree. Good Pitching gives any of the teams a chance to win, but the rest of the team has to contribute from the offensive and defensive sides of the team. I don't care how good the Pitcher is they cannot always win it by themselves.

The new Kids, both pitchers and position players have to perform. Most of these kids have been under the gun, playing travel ball for some of the top teams, so they learn to perform under pressure. This is nothing new to them. I feel we are going to see some great games from a team aspect and some great games from individuals.

No matter which teams gets the State Crowns from which ever classifications, this is going to be a great season of softball!!!!!!

I will be the first to admit if I'm wrong. What select team does she play for?
