Who's the last soft linebacker that succeeded in the NFL? Have you heard that wuss on interviews? You expect a guy like that to be the leader of your defense?

Do you think Ray Lewis is soft? Hell no, you can feel that guy's intensity through the camera.

Here are some facts:

1. Ray Lewis was a great football player at every level.

2. Manti T'eo may yet become a great NFL football player. He was definitely a great HS and collegiate football player.

3. You are a sad, pathetic little man for calling someone a wuss that you definitely would not to his face. The only "intensity" you would display if T'eo were standing in front of you would either be from you clamoring for his autograph or (my favorite) trying not to wet yourself if he found out you called him a wuss.

Inside backer is often the signal caller on defense. This guy will have some serious perceptions to overcome with his next teammates. Fake girl friend aside, his stock dropped from !st to 2nd round based on his last on field performance. This just knocked him down a bit more and saved the team that does draft him a few million.

Agreed, but I really feel like his on-field performance that night was affected by his state of mind. I think anyone who watched him play against teams like Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, etc. knows that he just didn't look like himself that night.

I believe it was more mental than physical.

Not a perfect analogy for sure, but just as I laugh at those that even begin to intimate that our softball girls here are just better than girls in other states, I don't buy even for a second that Alabama's players are just superior athletically, particularly when it comes to T'eo.

Do I want him to succeed and so I'm biased? Sure.

But I believe that he only needs to overcome this mental obstacle and if he does, and grows from it...watch out. He could be the steal of the draft in the 2nd round.

I dont disagree. I saw him play other times. I'm not making a judgement on how well he will do. I think he just has made life a bit more difficult than it needed to be.
