Fusion>>>WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THE FUSION TEAMS?

by sportzjunky » Thu Nov 20, 2008 2:37 pm

>>>This train wreck is going to be fun to watch!<<<

You sound very bitter (like they boned your family) and remember there is (most likely) innocent people(kids/young adults) involved also. My advice would be to not be such an a$$hole about it,,,, even if you are right.
The spirit, the will to win, and the will to excel are the things that endure.
These qualities are so much more important than the events that occur.

I have been reading this crap over the last few days. Iam not from the Dallas area, so Iam a outsider looking in.

I have seen the Fusion 16U play only once and it was at the RMD. Everyone that I spoke with was impressed with them and everyone spoke of how great their pitcher. I did not see her pitch. I have seen the Fusion Gold play only once and it was at a showcase. I thought they were a solid team with good coaches.

Why should anyone care what the Fusion is doing unless you are effected by it. Big Clubs either, established or just starting off always have a Bullseye on them. I believe it is because of jealousy. Coach's and players come and go each spring and fall. Instead of complaining over and over about the Fusion, go help your DD. Instead of complaining and gossiping about the Fusion online go write emails to coach's or go read about recruiting. Just do something productive.

Of Course I am on here writing, but enough is enough with this Fusion topic. Move on a pick on someone else.

I agree with sportzjunky, you sound very bitter. Wouldn't be the first time though...

When we first starting watching what has become this nightmare we felt that Fusion was going to be a great place for a lot of people. After going through the fall and realizing that things were not as they seemed our feelings began to change. Fast forward to all of the drama of the past month and things have really become crazy. We can't be fans of this stuff any longer.

I am a softball lover and not a member of any organization. I have taken exception with Batbusters, Glory and Elite so I am not just picking on Fusion. Just be who you say you are and be honest with the softball public about your true intent. Don't pretend to be some great new place to go for kids when your game is the same as some of the other guys. Maybe I am just a purist and live in the "old school" ways of doing business.

It sickens me to see guys like Slade Maloney, Ed Naudin, Kevin shelton and Stephanie that charge kids for lessons week after week and have never played (except Steph) and whose own kids have learned from others. Then we want to pay our coaches...get real, there is not a single coach in the area deserving to be paid a dime from any athlete. Dan Devine is throwing good money after bad paying Slade a salary to coach, Just because you can manage a game or a team does not make you an instructor or qualified to take money from others while you teach what you don't know. Ken Graves has success story after story with his girls pitching in major D1 ball. I am completely off topic this morning at this point but come on guys.

So what are you not a fan of any longer behindtheplate? You are a old timer that is ok with the parents drinking it up in the parking lots. I guess you are ok with no accountability like the good o days. I guess you liked it when parents could control a team because of one or two key players. (daddy ball)

Its great to hear about any coach and there successful players moving on to college ball. But I guess Ken graves played the sport and does not charge for pitching and hitting lessons.

You are just old wine bag that got booted out of Fusion and Glory and probably both. Go call someone that cares. This is still a Capitalism nation so parents can put there money where they think it will better there interest. Looks like Glory and Fusion are doing things the right way.

Behind the plate I am also off this subject after this comment. To be a true student of the game and teaching these girls what they learned and been very successful at is what these people do. I have first hand experienced Slade taking a group of girls with decent talent and made not only Nationals but Gold Nationals with them. People in our organization understands Slade will get a girl to use everything they got in order for us to succeed. We have been in Slades hand almost 2 years and look what he has done, his record speaks for himself. You are saying you the Mr Graves has produced all these great players and I agree but all those years he has only been to one Gold Nationals. That shows you that it is hard to make it because Mr Graves is also a good coach and teacher. Slade did it his first try at Gold Nationals, and I will assure you it was getting the very most out his athletes and believing in what he teaches. I'm old school also but your opinion of these people is not accurate. I will assure you girls in our organization would not be where they are without Slade and we our proud he is our leader. Also some of the best coaches and teachers not only in this sport but also professional sports did not play the game they now coach. I feel like I know and logged in many of hours watching this game and I know I can't be a coach of it. Coaches can take what they learned and teach it in ways the kids understand. I know like many I deal with you are set in your ways and no matter if I typed until my fingers bleed you wouldn't get it.

All I know the people that you mentioned have passion for the game and all has been very successful at it. This is why we call people out for not using your real names because they can dog these people that has had success but who are they?? Was their daughter good or did they never make it? Where they never asked to be part of a organization?

I love this game..To Ken G, Kevin S, Ed N, The Travelers Coaches and all the other coaches we face thank you, and of course Slade and Steph a special thank you for all the hard work and commitment through the years.

Behind the plate - your an idiot, plain and simple.

Which girls fastpitch team did Candrea play on again? I see multiple posts from former college players advertising to give lessons/coach. From what I have personally seen, just because you are athletic and played at a high level DOES NOT you can COACH.

Go back to sleep.

Dave D, you help me make my point. Fusion qualified the very first year (with players from other teams that were not home grown as you claim) in a tournament where the teams that qualified had one win at GN or like Fusion NO WINS at all. Try it again this year and see if it works for you. I will go out on a long plank here and say that we will get 3 teams in from the area and none of them have the Fusion logo. I see the following happening...Batbusters Graves, Travelers Marx and a Glory team (either Beard or Adkins) all others should play 18A. Call me stupid, but call me in July when it is all plays out.
