Many people emigrating to this country, legal or not, are filling jobs that 'Americans' have little desire to do ... Years ago, in our group of immigrant employees who were pushing mowers and swinginging picks, we had Master Electricians, Electrical Engineers & other edumacated types ... The initial idea with many immigrants is to send money home to give their families a better life ... If they are lucky, build a life here and bring their family over ... One 'legal' Mexican man I know works here from February through mid December ... When he gets here on Greyhound, he buys a pick up truck and drives it all year ... At the end of the year he drives it to Mexico and gives it to his Father ... I've known him over 20 years and he does this EVERY year ...

I see the real problem that needs fixing is illegal versus legal alien status ... ( I know many people assume every Mexican is illegal ) ... How should that be fixed ? Should it be made easier or more difficult ? Many business' depend on the supply of cheap labor ... The general public is dependant upon it ... Look in any restaurant kitchen ... Who is mowing your lawn ? ( hopefully your DD ) ... I broke down on the Interstate and called a Diesel Road Service to bail me out. A Hispanic Mechanic had me going in short order ... At that moment, I'm ashamed to say I didn't care if he was legal or not ...

We're reaching the end of that road so they won't be able to keep kicking that can much further. I seriously doubt Washington will accomplish anything meaningful in the next 2 months, but it's getting much harder for them to keep putting it off. The debt ceiling appears to be the only card the GOP has to force the issue. They need to figure out how to cut spending while growing the economy in a way that benefits the most people.

The GOP has a lot of challenges it needs to address from expanding its base to figuring out how to run more effective campaigns.

Wrong again - we're all immigrants. Hispanic includes descendents from Spain and Portugal. Native Americans immigrated here from Asia across the Bering Strait.
