12U Teams

I honestly can't wait, what does your top 10 look like this week?

Considering,

1. There were only 2 good 14U teams in Sugar Land, Kaos lost to them both and Bandits win the tourney. and Kaos has 95's playing down again!

2. Ice has lost several players, not sure if they even have a team.

3. Sting lost several players, maybe they will hook up with Ice and get back in the hunt ????

4. Peppers benefit from Sting losses, but how many pitchers do they have now? can they keep them all happy?

5. Rumors have it that Thunder lost their SS

6. Aces looking for half of a team

Smackdaddy-

Why don't you give me your top 10. You seem to have a pretty good handle on what's going on. As far as Sugarland is concenred here is what I heard. Kaos beat Bandits handily in a pool game. I know pool games are pool games but I heard it was pretty much their best pichers and bracket game lineups being used. Kaos did lose to TLC and Phantomz and both were close games (one was ITB from what I hear not sure which one). Bandits beat TLC twice but had an easy draw up to the winner's bracket final. I think all this tells us is Bandits and Kaos are both top 96 teams and fared well again this weekend (Phantomz and TLC are both very solid '95's). As far as I know the Bandits record against the top '96's on my list (only beat the Peppers out of 5 or 6 games against the top teams????) is not very good, and that is why I did not have them higher. If you or anyone else has any other info let me know. Kaos tell me they had no 95 girls at RM (one 96 that plays with 95 team as well) and they had one 95 this weekend who played very little. I was also told the Bandits had a pick up from the Thunder with them this weekend. It's the nature of the beast this time of year with school sports and there seems to be a lot of injuries too (girls trying to do too much in my opinion, volleyball, basketball, softball, cheerleading, etc.). I'm not aware of anyone else playig this weekend, so I would keep my top 10 the same right now. I was planning on doing it once every couple of months or so, because it would change too much doing it week to week. I do not base the opinions of the standings on who is moving where, only how the teams perfrom on the field. I try and gather as much info up as possible and give my opinion. It's just for fun and to try and keep everyone in the loop on how everyone else is doing.

I did hear that the Sting broke up and saw Bob Morse running an ad for players. What are you hearing there. I know the Aces are looking for players and I am hearing a couple different reasons why. I think the consensus is that they are looking to upgrade and will let problem kids/parent go after they find what they are looking for. I would never have a kid on a team that would do that. Who did the Peppers pick up in all of this mess? I heard one girl left the Ice, but nothing else. Par for the course in my opinion as there are a lot of unstable teams out there. It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out.

You sure hear a lot maybe you should.stop the gossip and go practice. Worry about your kid and your team.

How much can people say about the 12U division.

FP-

Take your own advice and worry more about YOUR kid and YOUR team and less about what I am posting. If you do not want to participate in a positive way, go somewhere else.

I am not starting stupid and false rumors about other teams and kids. My statement was directed to a specific adult ( i think ), making a statement.

What have i posted that is a false rumor? All if the information I have received has been from the coaches on the teams mentioned and/or parents on those teams. When others have posted things I go to the coaches and ask them myself if the statements are true. Just trying to keep up on the goings on in 12U.

Nice List Smackdaddy. Looks like we, and others, agree on who the top 5 are. I think any one of the top 5 teams could beat the others at any time. If you have time look at the CA top 10 boards and there is a guy there (Bracketologist or something like that) doing the same thing (that's where I got the idea to rank the Houston area teams) for so cal 12U. He uses a grading system (A+, A, A- B+, etc.) and explains the grades. I think that is a great way to rank too because the top teams are so close in talent. Thanks for sharing your list. Let us know if you hear anything about the Ice or Sting. I know both have girls leaving, hopefully they can survive.

Lead us Warda.

I like the A+, A, B+, B, C rating system. if you lead us, it will encourage more of these teams to compete against one another, ie. Peppers may have the team, I think, but they are hanging around the easies. Not saying they are hunting, but they need to bring it to where the competition is more often, you see the other top 5's go at each other far more often and you never really see the Peppers there at the same time.

Odd that 4 of the top 5's are down South, 2 in Sugar Town. 1 down the street and 1 a little farther down the road in the Pear tree.

Go get em Pepper

I heard that the Kaos and Bandits met up in a pool game in that tournament. How did that turn out?

What were the scores of your games against TLC?

First of all these are not "my scores"....just a softball fan that enjoyed the good competition.

In my opinion pool games mean nothing. Kaos did bring up from their 95 team for the complete tournament while I think Bandits had 1 pickup for Saturday.

Kaos lost to TLC handly in ITB and Phantomz, TLC knocked Phantomz out of tournament.

Bandits ended up on top by beating TLC twice.

What I took out of this tournament is this,

Kaos have 1 decent pitcher, great speed, but not alot of punch in thier lineup.

Bandits have 2 ace pitchers, not as much speed but lots of power 1-9 in thier lineup.

Just an opinion from a softball fan.

Superwin-

You seem to know a lot about the Bandits, so please tell me how the they have fared against the Kaos, Peppers, Thunder and Aces.

I think that is the best metric for gauging how these teams are doing in the fall. I know the Kaos have beat the Aces and Peppers. The Peppers have beat the Kaos and Thunder. The Aces have beat the Kaos, Thunder and Peppers. The Thunder have beat the Aces and Peppers.

I know the Kaos beat the Bandits this past weeeknd. Any help as to how they have done the rest of the fall against the other Big 5 would be appreciated.

Thanks,
