Let me ask you a question? Who really gives a rats A$$ if positions were already given out or not? When you move to a new organization you want to be able to compete right off the bat to draw better talent, down the road. Do you idiots think you would go to a new organization and you wouldn't promise spots to any girls? Come on get over it!! You are basically pissed because your kid didn't get asked to go to Lady Magic. You know what I say.... get off your lazy butt and work with your kid and let your kid work for their position, and prove Chet made a mistake. Or is it the fact that it wasn't even your daughters fault maybe your a HORRIBLE parent and he doesn't want you or your spouse!!! Quit bitching jealousy will get you know where!!!

The best medicine is to focus on your daughter and what you can do to make her better. Maybe her heart isn't into it as much as yours? look in the mirror, you aren't going to wear the Lady Magic uniform she is if she earns it. NOT YOU! If it all works out and your kid works, does her job she will make Chet regret not taking her and you can sit and laugh to yourself when they ask her to tryout later on.

Also just for your information, Chet is a good guy and you would of done the same thing! Don't deny it everyone would of done the same thing. I don't even have a kid in that age group but I know where this is all coming from JEALOUSY. Move on your daughters will be fine.

Work you tails off ladies and make CM regret not taking YOU that is the best thing YOU can do!!! Trust me if YOU put in your work and time YOU maybe the one to take a spot on that team if YOU want it, not your PARENTS!

I think you are missing the point why these people are jumping on and smack talking this group right now. Has nothing to do with who made the team it has to do with things like this statement below. As I stated before just not true...

This is simply NOT TRUE.. Look I am not here to bash anyone and I do not have a dog in this fight but this statement is my favorite in Travel Ball and we see it with every team every time tryouts come around. If anyone thinks these coaches left the teams they were with and did not make deals or promises to players who currently play for them you have never been involved in any type of sports before. (Hell when we were 9 and played stick ball in the streets we did what we could to make sure we had the best players on our teams)

If you don’t think an Org like Magic who always has competitive teams did not make sure these coaches felt they could both bring a solid core with you have never been involved in Travel Ball before. Why do you think Magic has a history of success?? They bring in teams that are already at the top of their age bracket and try to make them better. Congrats to Magic for doing so you have a great Org as a result...

And by the way Magic Mike responded and let me know I know Nothing.

Being that they only actually had 17 players at tryouts (I do not count the EG Rec team that was asked to show up as a filler for a workout) obviously not everyone shares you thoughts of OMG!!! we have to play for Magic. I think everyone would have respected this entire thing had they just handled it correct and said we are bringing a solid core of players from both team so we know we can compete however we have a few roster spots open.

Now people are smack talking because they have "picked" the 11 they wanted out of the gate yet do not advertise this in hopes to dupe more into coming next week to fill those last 3 spots. When you deal with the feelings of 12 yr girls you need to be respectful and honest or people get fired up. I don't think for a second these people are firing off because their DD is not playing for Magic after all this entire thread was started by a parent who was pissed for being lied to over and over and at this point as an outsider looking in it seems to me that person was the only one in the situation between The Coaches, The Magic and parents being honest.

Not questioning Chet here. Not jealous either. The girls, yeah probably 9 of them I would pick as well. Just questioning Magic Mike and his "holly than yours" attitude. Simple enough - LM is not in a different league and has it's flaws like many/most other organizations. Results speak for themselves, they've had a great run lately and are sending our local girls places - I like that. I don't like the elitist attitude and elevated superiority they want us to all believe as they claim to do things differently over there. No Mike - you're just an over zealous cheerleader.

Nope. Nobody knows our strengths and flaws more than I. But I guess it all comes from what perspective you look at life from and why we (the entire community of organizational administrators) do what we do. While I am happy that we've "had a great run lately and are sending our local girls places" thats not what we are about. Ask any of our coaches, or better yet, any of our 30 years worth of alumni.

AS for the "the elitist attitude and elevated superiority they want us to all believe", I want you to believe no such thing, and never said so! When I speak of LM, it is elitist only in that I can ONLY speak for LM. I cannot speak for the Breeze, the Hype, The Heat, etc. I only speak for LM. Do we think we are doing something special? You bet! Does that then exclude other organizations from doing something special as well? No way! I just cannot speak for them! I believe in this organization and believe in what it has done for the past 30 years, just as Don believes in the Breeze and Mike believes in the Hype. Are we all then not elitist toward are own organizations?

Not sure what I said to anger you so much, or if you have your own agenda? All I originally said was the truth, that at the time the team was announced there were no commitments made prior to tryouts. You then called me a liar, and made it personal. You don't know me at all and you call me a liar. Believe what you must to continue your agenda.

If you'd like to discuss this further, get out from behind your anonymous moniker and come talk with me personally next Saturday. I would be more than happy to discuss this with you in person. This whole thread is a joke. Im with Checkwriter, so glad were done with TB world. Jim/Joe had great reputations and the rest will ride that.... LM isnt near what is was, in large part by the coaches they choose to represent their ORG. Just my opinion. Looks like to me they are going down that road again. But people will continue to drink the " I have to play for the Magic to get seen" Kool-Aid. Thats what is SIMPLY NOT TRUE. IMO I would stay away from the Breeze and Magic if I had a kid coming through these days. Just not worth the drama. I think I will go on vaca from the bucket again.

There are good memories and there is BS. Fortunately, human nature has built in selective amnesia - until you read it here on the Bucket. Any time invested in your kids is priceless. Any time spent with your kids is priceless. The crap everybody puts up with along the way - sorry, I don't think it pays for itself in "character building".

I have on the order of 180,000 pictures of my DDs and their rec ball, travel ball, high school ball and college ball team mates that I can relive all the good stuff once in a while.

When DD1 graduates in June, she will be over softball. We'll see if we make a personal connection with some of the freshie's parents. That might keep DW & I watching the new network for a couple of years, but if the best is already behind you and your DD and not ahead of you ... then I guess we just have different outlooks on life in general.

If that's all you took away from my statement then you are right, we do have different outlooks. Although, I do agree with you on character building. I believe building character is mostly done at home.
