Cathedral City Classic

Everything you want to know about the greatest game

by Deb » Fri Nov 16, 2012 7:26 pm

Hi,

Thanks for starting this topic.

The web address for our tournament is www.palmspringssoftballclassic.com
you can also type in marynutterclassic.com

The website is changing every day. We are trying to make it as informative as possible. If you have suggestions, please feel free to let me know, either email, PM or in this post. I'll read it and see what I can do with your suggestion.

This year you will be able to purchase tickets online. You can print from your home, you can also just show the ticket on your phone and we can scan it from there. You can still purchase at the entrance, but this new feature will be awesome!

Also new this year is parking improvements. I met with the principle at Cathedral City High school. They are going to allow our fans to park at their school. They will use it as a fundraiser for their education fund. The details will be posted on our website in the very near future. There will be multiple lots available. One lot will be pre-paid reserved and will have in/out privileges. I also asked them if they could designate an area for RV parking. The said yes! So look for that info also. We have no financial gain from this, all the money will go directly to the HS.

As always, I have allowed multiple organizations participate as volunteers. If you have a team that would enjoy being a part of this amazing event, please contact me through email starting Jan 1st for those details.

Have a GREAT weekend!

In the poster above, what are those things sticking up in the air? The shadow looks like a crown, sort of, and they look like maybe surfboards half-buried in the desert? What do thy represent? Any ideas?
Ladies, if a man tells you he will fix it, he will fix it. There is no reason to remind him about it every six months.

Nearby peaks that resemble cathedral spires and inspired the area's name.

In 1850, Col. Henry Washington of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers discovered that the area's canyons resembled the interior of a grand cathedral. Recording history, he named this canyon of majestic architecture Cathedral Canyon.

Just a small update. The High school is going to do a lot more in regards to parking for our event. They will be allowing fans to use their lots during school hours. I will post all the info about what lots are available and what costs are involved. The money raised will be going to their Education fund.
I was told that they will have 12 RV spots for rent in one of the back lots. You must be fully contained and respect the school rules... Also, they will be having a "Pre-Paid" RESERVED lot with in and out privileges. There will also be $5 lots available.

Again, once the school gets me their info, I will post on the www.marynutterclassic.com All the parking scenarios are independent of our event. We have no dog in the race. We know parking is an issue at this facility, but I appreciate that people are jumping on board and making their lots available to our fans.

If you haven't already, you can purchase your tournament passes on line as well as single day tickets.

Thanks!
