Obviously people are liking what they are putting out there and are trying to be a part of it.

I don't buy it, even though a lot of people put a lot of years and time into travel ball most are clueless about the big picture. Just like all the kids that play for Firecrackers hoping to play for Tony. So they get on a team with a coach with a bad reputation and put up with all the shenanigans in hopes to play for the man one day.

Anyone that thinks paying $40 for a 30 minutes lesson with 4 players at a time needs to have the melon checked.

The people that are liking what they are putting out there are the same people playing for known perverts, coaches charging so much for dues so they can make the house payments and coaches belittling and using foul language at his young lady athletes. Same mind set

Wow!!!!! First of all you don't have to play on Tony's gold team in order to get signed. Girls are getting signed or committing before they even reach gold such as OCBB,Athletics, firecrackers and so on.........Looks like somebody needs to do a lot more homework!!!!!!!!!

The original post was pretty lame in the first place. Another hater. You've got to do what is best for your kid. $$ are determined by the marketplace. I don't like the idea of a 4 way lesson, either, so my kid doesn't do it. If it works for some kids, so be it.

You got to remember there were a lot of kids that didn't make Mizuno teams so there are a lot of disgruntled parents.
And Dad, that has got to be the weakest play on the Mizuno name I have seen.

So what letter does 16U PGF national championship go under?

"B" for Batbusters... the only reason he drew a good part of those players.

It would of been more impressive if he would of done it from the beginning, but he had to ride the Batbuster Name to build.

Lets see what Mizuno pans out in the next year or so, give the people a chance to figure it out......

Couldn't have been his relationships with college coaches or the success of that team that got those girls to switch uniforms? Tough to build an organization from scratch with no coaching experience or contacts. Gotta come from somewhere. Why are you grinding your axe here?

If you had remotely a clue of what you were talking about, you would know that one of, if not the biggest reason Batbusters has had the success it did over the years, was because of Mike.

It's funny to me how a few people on here spew ignorance and the majority of people who read the nonsense on here, believe it. Crazy!

@ DadsDD95, Obviously one of three things has happened to your DD:
1. She tried out for one of the teams Mike has coached and didn't make the team..
2. You don't know him and have never been around his program but you are listening to someone else that has a DD that didn't make one of his teams...
or 3. Your DD didn't make his team, wasn't getting play time on the lesser team she did make, so you started your own team to give her the play time she wasn't getting, played against Mike's team, and got your A$$ handed to you.

If I repeated anything, it was intentional. :o

I am guessing you are probably the dad the rest of the parents on your DD's team try to stay clear of because you probably criticize everything the coach does and tend to be in the center of all the drama on all of the team(s) she has played for..Poor kid.

Just stumbled across these interesting words.

The Paradox of playing for the big softball organizations

The big softball organizations have stumbled upon a very successful business case, whereby most of the subjects accept the program, as long as they perceive that they have a choice or chance (to get the DDs the golden ticket); even if they are only aware of the choice at a near unconscious level. While this business case functions (for the chosen and privileged ones), it is obviously fundamentally flawed (as most DDs are not assured a college scholarship). Thus, creating the otherwise contradictory systemic anomaly, that if left unchecked might threaten the business system itself. Ergo, those that refuse the program, while a powerless minority, if unchecked, would constitute an escalating probability of disaster for such businesses.

Apropos, are the big softball organization programs the standard?
Understanding the process of getting the DDs the golden ticket is imperative. Is it based purely on grades and softball ability, or a deterministic event, Vis-à-vis the player’s affinity to the business case owner (daughters, relatives, financial partners relatives, friends daughters, coaches’ daughters, client$$$$, etc)?

Explore the players advertised as “committed”, understand their affinity (if any) to the business owner. At the end, if you are in, you are in a great place. Otherwise, recognize the business and exercise your options (or hope for the golden ticket, which is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously being the source of one’s greatest strength, and one’s greatest weakness).
