Top quality organization in Chicago area - $2,300 (they are a for profit enterprise). Includes 10 lessons from professional coach, free use of professional indoor area (when not already booked) that has 7 cages for softball, 7 different cages for baseball, large open area up for full size infield work (~50' ceiling), indoor team practice/training for 2 hours on 20 days. Includes all the normal things like uniforms, bags, insurance, fees for about 10 - 12 tournaments/showcases, team practices twice a week during outdoor season. No travel costs are included.

Seems high priced compared to others.

Yup, maybe I am just the dumb one not making money off these families, many of whom are struggling financially in this horrible economy yet are doing everything they can for their DD's future. I mean it is suppose to be all about the girls....not the money...but it has definitely become a high paying business for some.

I guess if we rostered 18-20 players we could lower fall dues to $525-$575 but then the players don't get the needed playing time or I could keep the dues where they are and just pocket the rest of the money .

The org my daughter plays in is in Socal; Same dues each month (160) for 10 months out of the year two months off. We play all of the good local showcases as well as Florida and Colorado, plenty of tournaments during the spring, actually they play alot I think 3-4 weekends a month during spring. Also there are three mandatory fundraisers throught the year to help off set coaches traveling expenses adding an additonal 300 per kid for a year. We pay our own travel expenses.

Houston area

Team 1: $130/month (10 months), plus about $500 start-up costs for uni's etc. plus $600 fundraising commitment, plus voluntary (not really) charity activities, plus must hit with coaches. Travel on your own nickel.

Team 2: $500 per player for the whole year. This last year it was $750 since one of the fundraising tourney's was rained out. Hit with whomever you want, travel on your own nickel, and stay where you want (other than Colorado) although team does coordinate a hotel if you want to use it.

FWIW - team 2 outplayed team 1 in the local ASA qualifiers. Oh, and DD had way more fun on team 2.

To be fair, team 1 is much better known that team 2 and has a solid record of getting kids into college programs. They can charge what they charge b/c of their record on getting kids placed. It's why we played there and paid there.
