I will start this Thread by saying please remember these are 11 and 12 year old girls we are talking about, Please be respectful when talking about these teams. Rankings are simply one persons opinion, I do have a daughter who plays in this age group with friends on many of these teams.

We have a ton of talented players and teams in the area and they deserve credit for that. I have always and will always try to keep my opinions on teams unbiased and allow these teams play speak for themselves. I know many of you enjoy rankings, as long as we can keep things respectful I will continue to update rankings as often as possible.

I know its not much but after the first weekend of play for some, here is how I see it. This is based on how they matched up against each other and the teams they all played. It is hard to rank after one tourney. I as many agree that the over all body of work at times will out do a single head to head game. That said with only one tourney in and a lot of change during fall tryouts head to head is about all you have to work with.

1 Rocklin Hype: Played great all weekend. Allowed only 3 or 4 runs all weekend. Teams were hitting off of them but the D was outstanding. Very good hitting team has a good mix between slappers, contact hitters and power.

2 Grapettes Kahwaty: #1 seed in their pool. Very aggressive on the bases. A lot of new faces here as well, the team doesn't have the talent they did last year but overall pretty solid. 1- 6 in the line up pretty strong.

3 Team CA: Had a pretty solid defense all weekend. I thought they out hit the Hype in the semi’s but like said Hype D was outdstanding. I put them behind Grapettes K because of head to head but watching them play I think their overall play was better then the Grapettes.

4 CA Breeze 00: For a team who normally has very good bats they just looked flat all weekend. This team has always had great bats, good pitching and a solid defense. A few new faces time will tell if they made the right moves. Lucked out to advance past KG in game one, I am sure they are just knocking a little rust off.

5 KG Concord: Looks like a lot of change with this team from Summer to Fall. Picked up a few good players. Surprised that this team didn’t have more returning players after the way they finished in Westerns. I Would put their middle infield up against any team out there. I thought they played a little better than the Breeze but Breeze pulled it out and this early head to head wins out.

6 Roseville Heat Cota: I am sure Cota can mix it up with any of the top 5 but they went to Salinas instead joining the rest in the sand box. (Only reason I have them 6th to start) Looks like we will have to see this weekend.

7- in no order
Salinas Storm 00: James always puts together competitive teams. They played well in Spring Summer I am sure they will do the same this year.

Nor Cal Elite Boykin: Matt is another coach who has always managed to put together a pretty good group. They competed well with the other 00 teams last year.

RR Gold A/B: Had a hard start this weekend at the same time they played 3 of the top 4 teams on this list. Some real solid hits all the way thru the lineup. Errors in the field killed them. Newly formed team stepping up that will get better as they play better teams.

Other 00 teams: CA Rapids, Foothill Gold 00, Hanks Bombers, Grapettes Mendez, OBS Monarchs, TC Smash, AASA Virchis, Mizuno Coronado.
Anyone have info that might help with these teams???

01 teams to watch:
I do not like putting the young teams in the top 10 unless they have given me a really good body of work. 1st year 12s are always hot and cold. That said there are some 01 teams coming up that I am sure will ruin one of the top teams days sooner than latter.
AASA Richardson scrappy small ball n speed, KG Hitters 01 Played very good at Westerns if memory serves finished in the top 5, Lady Spartans 01 one of the top teams in 10s picked up a few from Mizuno Cervellin, Roseville Heat Stewart Replaced 4 or 5 with Mizuno Cervellin players and added the #1 P from Lady Spartans.

I know there was a Bit N Bit ASA Tourney but they have no info posted. A lot of 01 teams were in it and a few of the 00 teams were there. Any info on how teams did or who won???

Grapes K core group n coach staff is from KG Hitters Tracy. I am sure that is what was meant by that comment. RR Gold A/B core group and coach staff is from a NSA B Team Intesity or Illusion. Team CA core group and coach staff is from Mizuno Lep. Rocklin Hype Core group and coach staff is from.... Well, Rocklin Hype

Good job with the rankings. I saw all the teams in Manteca and Hype was head and shoulders the best team.
1) Hype-see above
2) Grappettes-solid pitching aggressive base running
3)Team California (old mizuno) had solid bats. Good defense
4) Breeze '00- bats and defense didn't look as good as in the past seasons.
5) Heat -wasn't in manteca but will be in the mix solid team good coach.r

Breeze 00 has seven girls who have been together since Fall ball 2010.

while that is nice, it is just over 1 year together, not "at least 2"......I also recall that team was in an NSA title game late in the fall... Sounds like the makings of a solid core. I would think Hype Cobian is the measuring stick for the 00 12U teams, although I am not saying this officially, havent seen enough 00 teams, just a hunch.

I would think that maybe, just maybe, onlooker was right DOH!!! again, no horse in the race, just trying to keep things real

First thing in the morning 2 of the top team square off to kick off the weekend.

CA Breeze 00 vs Foothill Gold 00 2:15pm Maidu # 3
This will be a good game to see how Foothill Gold stacks up against the top teams.

CA Grapettes - Kahwaty vs KG Hitters 00 – French 4pm Mahany # 1
Rematch of last Saturday let’s see if KG gets off to a better start.

Hype Fastpitch - Cobian vs Worth Salinas Storm 00 4pm Maidu # 2
Haven’t seen Storm yet, good chance to see how they compare to #1

Easton Elite - Krist vs Nor Cal Elite 4:15pm Santucci # 1
Two unknowns, will will be nice to see how they stack up over the weekend

Looker that was not meant as a Slam or a jab to you at all. That was a surprised face shocked face and confused face thinking... man where did the quiet just play games n stay off the radar Hype come from?? and Looker called it. I agree the longer teams play together the better they should get. A lot to be said about knowing and trusting your teammates. You can PM me those lotto numbers I asked for

2 ways to build a team start with girls who are young coach them up and make them believe in each other... Or schedule friendlies with other teams in the area and recruit their better players. Personally I like the way Raul has done it.
