And if you do more research about Softball Factory, you will see this is nothing more than a money maker to get kids to think they have a chance to play for the National Team. Go there and they will sell you a video too. Once again, not a well thought out plan except the money making part of it.

Just a side question-

Does USOC still have jurisdiction since softball in no longer an Olympic sport?

The USOC determines the National Governing Body and as such has jurisdiction.

It IS a big deal as it is not just for this year, it eliminates a huge number of eligible athletes, it greatly weakens the USA Team. As someone mentioned, it was announced at a time when there were not further ASA Qualifiers available to enter.

As to the form, every age eligible softball player who did not play in an ASA Championship is potentially hurt by this rule.

If you do not feel sending the form is appropriate then send an opinion.

It is fine that it was covered, the point is to provide some information for anyone who cares to try and do something about it. If it does not concern you or you feel fighting it is fruitless then you can pass the topic.

I'd love to hear ASA's explanation when the team starts losing games it would normally be expected to win because of the downgrade in talent.

I remembered the topic, was just looking for the "official" policy and not just one that is reported. Since realistically, this does not effect most of us, the form is probably not the way to go. Perhaps a Petition or Official Letter of protest from Hey Bucket signed(electronically) by all those willing might help the cause- send it USOC and ASA-- perhaps even try to get the other alphabet soups to join in. Perhaps the NFCA might want to jump in the fray-didn't they try to get control of the National Team? Let's go Uno!!! I am sure many here will sign and just as many will help you draft it.

I would argue that NFCA camps would probably be an easier infrastructure(and much broader) to help identify players- but I guess that's subject for another post
