2011/12 is getting started soon....who are THE 12/11u teams?

by Bulldogs00 » Wed Jun 27, 2012 10:06 am

Daily Joy,

Congratulations on earning your berth to ASA Nationals! I think you have a very talented team and your team has done extremely well their first year together. Your team has proven they can compete against other top teams. I think its great to see Indiana teams going to represent our state in Nationals. I wish your team all the best. Hopefully, we will get to represent our state too along with other great teams from Indiana. I know your girls will play hard at Nationals. They will win some and lose some. Who knows? What matters most in my opinion is that all the girls going have fun and learn from this great experience. Anything can happen in softball.

Renee :)

Dailyjoy,,the one in michagan you mentioned earlier with compuware was a regional USA/ASA qualifier for nationals, yes 1 winner only,, it was not a state game anyway,, any team from all of region 10 could have participated in that tourny and i think but not sure that,,ill, mich,in, and ky are in 10,, maybe some of ohio/not sure,,then you have a northern, eastern, western and southern territries,,northern territories cover 13 sates, eastern covers i think 10..western covers like 11-13,,southern covers like 11-12. and alaska and h

For a team similar in make up to your team, that in being a mixed age team, I think a second place finish in Michigan, a fourth place finish in the quad cities, and a fifth place finish in Illinois (all large USA/ASA qualifiers) is pretty impressive. Especially for a new team which has only played in six tourney's together.

I am really proud of all Team Energy has accomplished this year.

It's coming!!!!!!

I would even go out on a limb and say they have a chance of a top finish in crown point because they have been seeking out top competition. Thats a good story of how girls rally after losing a key component to their team in the spring. It just goes to show you that all around talent is key to winning and progressing as a team. I think a coup,e of the teams mentioned on here would be lost if their number 1 pitcher walked out on them. Sometimes it's the underdog that comes out on top. I will be watching from 14's next year to see how far they blow everyone away.

They have to beat Bulldogs00 first!!!

Thank you Renee.

I wish you the very best this weekend and look forward to the possibility of playing. As Bill has stated, in 12u, on any given day either team could win. This is true for all the teams playing this weekend.

As for Moline. Our team has not decided which tourney we will attend. We qualified for ASA A Northern, NSA A World Series, and Moline.

The coaches, along with the parents, will discuss it and decide which tournament will be the best, most memorable, experience for our girls.

Last year compuware chose to go to NSA A and won the championship. I am not saying we would win the championship at either ASA A northern or NSA A but I understand the reasoning, at 12u, to play in a championship where the girls have the best opportunity to excel.

You're right Likeitornot. The white sox shouldn't be counted out. I have only seen them play a handful of times, but if the core players are performing to their ability and the pitcher his hitting her spots, I believe they can compete with anyone. I don't know about a top finish this weekend against the competition though, I think that you are going out on a limb for sure. However, next year could be a different story with the white sox. Like I said before, if they add a few more good players next season to the core they have now, they will be a really tough team to beat.

Bulldogs00 wrote:DailyJoy, I couldn't agree more with you on your last comment. Its disappointing when an ASA tournament gets canceled. We had this happen to us as well this year. Also, I love how friendly the NSA web site is. I wish ASA would create something similar. When I called ASA once to ask results of a tournament, I was told that I need to contact my daughter's coach. I would love to see more Indiana teams play ASA tournaments. However, I don't think this will happen until they update their web site so the public can see what teams are registered for tournaments and get to see the results as well.

The Observer, Thank you for the nice comment! My daughter works really hard 4 days a week to keep getting better.

Cpbulldogfan, Thanks for the nice comments! I would have to say my daughter has good speed, but what helps her the most is hitting her spots. Tremendous speed would be our cp99 pitcher!

To Everyone: I'm looking forward to this weekend! Sounds like between Team Energy, CP 99's, Raiders Black and Laporte Lazers Black this ASA State tournament is going to be one tough competition! I'm sure I'm missing some teams too. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!

Bulldog Parent,
Renee

Wow,,nicely put,, by the way, what is the tremendous speed your talking about, how fast

I'm guessing the cp 99 pitcher isn't that fast since they just lost to outlaws 99 7-0.
