no the super 96 teams have already been seeded into the bracket

the super 96 teams play there own pool games while all the rest of the teams play there own pool games. They are already seeded against teams that all finished 1st in there pool I believe

You're confusing the Power Pool with the Super 96.

There are 40 teams in the Power Pool division - 10 pools with 4 teams each. They play 3 pool games on Tuesday and the 10 pool winners play a single elim bracket on Wednesday with the final game Thursday night (televised again?). The other 30 teams play 1 game on Wednesday.

The Super 96 starts Friday with the 40 Power Pool teams plus the 56 regular pool winners from Fireworks and Sparkler. It starts as 4 double elim brackets (Fri & Sat) with the top 2 teams in each DE bracket feeding into a single elim championship bracket (Sunday). They seeded the 40 Power Pool teams into the 4 Super 96 DE brackets so they won't face a team from their pool again before the championship bracket. Seems like they shoud have seeded the PP teams at least by where they finished in their pools on Tuesday.

Checking if this makes sense - if you don't win your power pool you play one game Wed and nothing on Thu? And then into the S-96 brackets on Friday? Thanks for your help, you seem to be HB's version of Apples Genius Bar!

This is to satisfy the 6 game guarantee (i.e. 4 pool + Dbl Elim).

Each of the regular Sparkler pools only play pool games on 2 days - Tue-Wed, Tue-Thu or Wed-Thu. Some tournaments do this so people have a day off to do something else.

Team check in went smooth like always, coaches meeting was short and sweet. Triple Crown does a great job and they give many athletes the opportunity to compete and to be seen. Triple Crown has around 900 teams playing in Colorado. Over 3000 games will be played. This is the biggest softball event anywhere. This year they will have 14 game televised at 30 to 40 thousand dollars a game. There are around 400 coaches coming to watch. Thank you TCS for all your hard work and for giving us all a great place to play.

Does anyone know why this is the week before the 4th of July week, instead of the week of the 4th like it was in the past, and will be again next year? I think last year may have ended just before the 4th too, not sure why because the 4th festivites always made it even more fun.

It's pretty straight forward. The primary reason for the timing is based on the NCAA recruiting calendar; that coaches can start communicating directly with players on July 1 (as soon as they are done playing in the current competition). July 1 is the magic date, not July 4.

The 4th may make it a holiday week, but the priority is given to college coach participation to draw the teams. No college coaches (because they talked to their priority list last week) would likely lower team participation.

It's nice they do that for the college coaches, since it is a recruiting tournament (even though most teams bring all their signed players so the coach can get some glory too, i guess), but interesting they play at 5 or 6 different parks, and aren't providing colleges with player info packets any longer, neither of which makes things easier for the colleges.
Not really a complaint since I'm not a college coach, but it seems like a PITA to have so many locations and no printed material. I guess it gets kind of cumbersome and costly when you have 900 teams.
