What 10U teams are going to stand out this year?

by Offspeedpitch » Tue Jun 19, 2012 10:54 am

Dr . Pepa,

I think you need to really look at the top 5 standings and rethink it. This weekend
Proved that mafia black and gators 01 are without a doubt the top two. I think mafia black
Are going to give the gators 01 a run for it. This is how it looks after this weekend games in my opinion.

1. Gators 01
2. Mafia black( could over take gators)
3. Sox
4. Bombers
5. Magic

Thanks for the scores softball977. I think it's awesome the gators02 are playing so well against the big teams this year. They will be the team to beat next year!

Mafia Black is a very good and they did hand us our only 10U loss so far in a very good 2-1 game in Columbus. We were lucky enough to come back and knock them off twice in Champ and IF games.

Why does everyone on here feel as they have to "rank" these teams? Last I checked there is no award or special honor for being considered the "best 10U team in IN." I hope that I speak for everyone when I say that the goal is to make each and every girl better and assist in getting them to whatever their future goals are. There are some really good teams in IN and some really good players, this has been a great year for 10U in Indiana!!!!! Enjoy the Ws, learn from the Ls, and always strive to continue improving.

As the parent of a 1st yr travel player, I've had an up close view of games of hers vs 3 of the 5 listed. Her upstart team(2 played travel last yr) has managed to compete in all of them, the difference being the experience level of girls on the other teams. I also sat front row of Gators Vs Mafia. And by the way, the Gators lost that game. Mafia, I don't believe beat them. They lost. I believe they proved that by beating them when the chips were down, in the final 2 games(possibly a run rule in there) Although the Black squad is pretty good and, I'm guessing, better then even they thought that they would be...I remember last falls tryout season!!

In Central IN(quite possibly, on a much larger scale) there is a certain bar that is set by the Blue and Orange.
Hopefully when the dust settles this fall, the whole NATION will know what we here already do....
That if you come to Indiana to play softball in the 01-02 age group. You better come strong, because this states group has got TALENT!!!

10GatorCoach, You've got a great group of kids, that you have really gotten to a very high level of competing. Please, don't take these "ranking" lists as anything other than, the utmost respect for what those girls and your coaching staff have, and will accomplish in the future.
Most of us know who we don't want our dd's team to face in an elimination game. I love your squad but as one competitor complementing another, I have to HATE the Blue and Orange!!!
Enjoy the ride and bring home that BIG trophy from ASA!!! GO GATORS!!

Bigfatdaddy,

Thank you for your kind words! We have played top teams from OH, IL, KY, and MI this year and you are 100% correct when you say IN has talent at this age group. This has been a great year and we hope to represent IN well in Columbus, OH twice in July and hope to do the same in Bloomington in August. I am really looking forward to watching our girls compete against the best from across the US, no matter what the outcome!!
