Shoulder Pain

by DiamondDad » Mon Jun 18, 2012 11:23 am

About 2 years ago my daughter had a shoulder injury in her throwing arm. We had an MRI done and the doctor said it was slight fraying in the labrum. She went through physical therapy and took about 5 months off. She has played for the last year and half with no pain, and it started again this weekend. By the end of Saturday she could not raise her arm above her shoulder.

Can anyone recommend a good physical therapist that handles shoulder injuries with a softball or baseball background? The last physical therapist we went to was ok. I would like to try to find a better one that is more specific to our sport. A PT that could evaluate her throwing to see if she is doing something that is causing the injury.

We are in the OC area. Thanks in advance.

I know of a Chiropractor that does way more than the traditional adjustments. Handles alot of muscle related issues. Unfortunately he works in Riverside area and then at his home office in Murrieta. He handles alot of the CBU softball team and most of his clients are HS age softball players in the Murrieta/Temecula area.

Not sure if he can evaluate your daughters throwing motion to see why she's getting hurt.

The physical therapists that run Rancho Physical Therapy in Murrieta on Hancock have worked with many softball players who have had shoulder surgery. Wes took my daughter out into the parking lot and threw with her after she had shoulder surgery to help her with rehab.

Recommend Dr. Gair of Laser Chiropratic in West Covina. Excellent for sports injuries, including shoulder injuries. (626) 338-3600. If health insurance does not cover, cash discount is available to student athletes. Good luck.
