What 10U teams are going to stand out this year?

Bake.........how is the NSA world series any different then the ASA nationals? Isn't it just a different name for the same thing?

If there is a a difference what is it?

You said the B world series isn't a national is the A? and if so why?

It seems to me, with all the different governing bodies, most younger teams seem to play whichever is the most popular in their area.

dailyjoy - I could very well be wrong about this but from looking at the NSA website it looks like there are a total of five "NSA Girls Fastpitch World Series", 2 "A" Division, South Carolina and Nevada, and 4 "B" Division, Indiana, South Carolina, Florida, and Nevada. As for ASA there is only one ASA/USA National Tournament for each age level. ASA does hold some regional tournaments for each age, these are called Northern Nationals, Eastern Nationals, Southern Nationals and so on, these are for teams that did not qualify for the ASA/USA National Tournament.

I understand why some younger age groups, and even some older age levels would rather stay local or participate in a "B" event, like, team goals, strength of team, location, cost is also big factor. I am not trying to analyze every local travel teams situation!

You ask what is the difference between an NSA "B" World Series and a ASA/USA National??? Strengh / Quality of teams! I hope in the near future you have the opportunity to experience an ASA/USA National Tournament.

Furthermore, who cares who goes where? I never understood why it is anybody's business and why some feel the need to challenge a coach/organization as to what their end of the season event is. Who cares?? Go have fun doing whatever the heck you want to do. If your team wants to go to USA/ASA then God bless and go make it happen. If they don't, it not only doesn't matter, but it also doesn't devalue your team.

It just brings down the whole level of softball in the region. By continuing to allow "A" teams to register "B" you short change the sport, and the kids. All tournaments at 10s and 12s should be open tournaments even the state tournament. After the teams play the pool games at state, is when they should be designated "A" or "B". Sandbag and you are tossed for a year. If you want to go to a local "national" tournament so what, go. Almost all the organizations can get you in the one you want anyway.

I could be way off, but it seems we have the opposite problem in central Indiana. There are a lot of teams that play A. Either they want to test their skills, or they really beleive they are an A, but it seems to create alot of wading through lesser teams to get to eachother. I say that with all due respect to the teams that do this, I am just commenting on what seems to be happening in our area. Make no mistake, some of these teams will jump up and knock someone off. I guess it is the same scenario of teams playing up a division...but they might be doing that to avoid weaker tournaments in their age group?
