What 10U teams are going to stand out this year?
Are there any other teams that are or are thinking about getting into NSA "A" State July 6-8 besides the Magic and Sox? I know Gators 01 and Xtreme are going to Stingrays, but was wondering if anyone else was considering "A" State?

I don't know of any but I know of some that should be - haha! What exactly separates an A from a B? Any rules designating one from the other?
So Brian what will they (NSA) do at State with that few A teams?

The Dbatz were considering at one point to play A NSA but its just a bad week for family vacations etc... at the beginning of the season we were not sure if we were ready to play A state. Thanks for the post on the pool play/brackets. I had seen them just making sure you did as well.

2 10U teams registered for NSA "A" State Tournament
I noticed at least one team playing in two B State Tournaments.
One other team that a few weeks ago was considered a top 3 10u team in the state is listed in a B State Tournament.
What is going on??

I agree something would appear to be amiss. Since there are very few if any at all "A" only tourneys, most teams compete at A/B tourneys. Would it not make sense then that if a team consistently finishes in the top 3 spots (USFA or NSA) that logically those finishes would make them an "A" team? I mean if they're not an "A" team then who is? I mean obviously the '01 Gators are an "A" team and are registered as such, but what about some of the other teams that week in and week out finish in the top 3 spots excluding the Magic and Sox?
No Mafia-Black isn't an "A" team or at least I guess not since they're registered to play in "B" State. Actually I think they're registered at HSE (State Central) and Columbus (South State).

This is just a guess but it may have something to do with the NSA A nationals being in Spartanburgs SC. and the B nationals being in NW Indiana.
Most the girls playing 10 and 12u will not continue playing past high school and some will quit before then.
As you stated many of the tournaments are A/B. They still have the opportunity to play the "best" in Indiana registered B.
It makes sense to me in 10u, and probably 12u, to register as a B team so the girls can still have the experience of playing in a national tournament without the cost of traveling so far away.
I think many parents at the 12 and 10u age are playing travel ball for the experience and life lessons learned. Being an A team might offer more bragging rights but for many it is not as practical a choice.
I don't think most, again I say most since I know there are exceptions, 10,11, and 12 year old girls care if they are playing B ball instead of A as long as they get to play in a national championship tourney.
As for the state tournaments. I may be mistaken but don't you have to play in B state in order to play in B nationals?
I wonder how many teams would have registered as "A" teams had the A tourney been in NWI and the B in SC?

dailyjoy - The NSA "B" World Series is not a NATIONAL tournament.

Just jumping in here, but my daughter plays for Mafia-Black10U. This is our first yr w/the team and when she tried out they only had 4 returning girls so they basically were fielding a "new" team where the girls had never played together. When they registered us no one knew how good these girls were really going to be. Thus we were coming into the winter months and practicing/playing indoors and as you all know it is a lot different playing indoors than out, so know one could judge off that. So now since the season is really going the girls have really seemed to "gel" together more than we had anticipated. Every one of these girls have really worked hard as a team and also independently on their own. These girls have really meshed so well together and I think us as parents and the coaches are just coming to realize how good this team really is.

The team def has come together and are playing great! Nothing but respect from me! Great coaches, great players and great parents! They've always been great to us, other than the beat down we take every time we play! Haha!!
