14U Team Rankings (Bracketologist) May 25th Pre-Memorial Day

why has there been no talk about the RR tourney this weekend? Is it about the gate fees/no coolers or has it turned into a............. b-ball tourney? As far as RBI we played them in the fresno classic this year on sunday, solid team with LOTS of chatter (players AND parents)

I have to agree with notme, there was one assistant in the dugout during the game against Smash that was a little out of line lol. She was literally hanging on the fence like a monkey, then started pounding the water cooler in the dugout like Donkey Kong. Eventually the umpire had to tell her to stop the pounding. Overall those girls play hard that's for sure, they have the beginnings of a great team. However, I do believe some of their shine is being robbed by the entertainment given by the assistant and the parents.

Yep, nothing but B-ball in Stockton, they make you pay to use the restroom now also. I think those in sac are far better off, also allows the B-ballers a chance to succeed and feel good about themselves for a day or two.

Nice job by South Bay Stars 97 taking the ship in 16u. I'm sure they surprised quite a few.

Last year there were two SB Stars teams in 14U IIRC There was a black and a blue. We beat one in Fresno Last year (blue) and I want to say we tied the black team in Stockton? I'm not positive. I just know that the competition is deep with 2015/2016 kids. I think we are quick to crown certain teams and discredit other team's efforts.

don't get me wrong blue, we had a great time this weekend, the weather was perfect, bbq for three days was nice, short drive to the fields and we were one game away from the big show, could not have asked for a better weekend. just asking why no love for the RR tourney?

Tournaments and games should be about one thing at this point in the season, teams getting better, and players learning. Winning is great, and teams need to win to gain confidence, but if we are not getting better, I am not happy. We could go 4-4 over a weekend, and I might still be happy, depending on what kind of team I have, and depending on if the girls got better as we went along.

Unfortunately, far too many people dont understand that concept. So why no love for Stockton?/ Who cares.

I think a major factor is because about a year (or so) ago when the paying customer were voiceing all their complaints here on Heybucket. Every organization heard and listened to these complaints, and made the necessary changes that the public was asking for, EXCEPT for Bob Regpala's Running Rebels Organization.

Blue, who in the heck signs up for a tournament to lose or to go 4-4. You go there to win not to even take second. If you want to play to get better save your money and play in rec. tournaments. You sound like the Berkley type, "everybody is a winner, no losers".

Notme....and youve been around for ...how long? I think your testosterone is clouding your reading comprehension. You seem to think that winning alone is a measure of success, I do not. Our 16u team has 5 or 6 new players and has a ton to learn. They went 8-0 this weekend, but I was not happy with the semi or final. I am happy with the way they competed, I am not happy that we allowed a single run. It isnt that we allowed a run, it is how we allowed the runs that had me upset.

Winning and losing is the ultimate report card for me, because results dont lie. But in week 1 for our team, it is only a part of the equation. I learned a ton about our 16u team, but I didnt learn anything because we won games. I learned about this team based upon how we played.

You can play a great game, and still lose, you have obviously not figured that out yet. You can also get dominated, and win. I remember a Johansen team in the semis against Ally Card getting dominated to the tune of 17 strikeouts.... yet they won 1-0. A 1-0 win did not change the fact we got dominated.

I never said id be thrilled going 4-4, I did say that DEPENDING on the team, I might be happy. Some teams are going to NEVER have an 8-0 weekend, so should the coach with that mediocre team(there are lots of them out there) just be pissed and blast his girls every weekend. If thats the case, 80% of the teams playing should stay home then, cause 80% of the teams playing right now have ZERO chance of winning the tournaments they sign up for.
