12U Team Ranking(Bracketologist) Pre NATIONALS -7/13/ Update

For the 1st time in 5 years - I wasn’t able to attend 12U State, but I have to say great job So Cal ASA on updating the bracket!

Congratulations to San Diego Power Surge 99 for taking 1st place, Firecrackers 99 in 2nd and So Cal Jynx 99 for finishing 3rd. Seems I missed a classic Power Surge/Jynx battle!

To tell the truth I had almost given up on Power Surge 99, Jynx 99 and Corona Angels 99 as they seem to be a bit late to the dance …….. but this past weekend they reminded me that the only games that matter start in May and end in August.

Also want to note the performances of the other teams that finished in the top 12 and earned a berth to ASA Nationals .

#4. Sun Devils – they had a great run through the losers bracket after losing to PS99!
#5. Mizuno Pride 2000 – a very good team that I have seen before – not sure why they’re so far down in the poll. I would take this team to ASA Nationals and have a great time.
#5. Quakes Linsay another solid poll team. Great to see them qualify for Nationals.
#7. Gamers Academy 99 – Have been highly ranked all year - great to see them qualify for Nationals.
#7. Diamonds – Often overlooked but a solid team…enjoy Nationals.
#9. Artesia Punishers Guerrero – solid performance – enjoy Nationals!
#9. Cal Thunder 99 - Another highly ranked team - great to see them qualify for Nationals
#9. So Cal Athletics – Another late to the party team - enjoy Nationals!
#9. Cal Lite 12u - – Another team that I had almost given up on - enjoy Nationals!

What an outstanding group of teams to represent So Cal at ASA Nationals. 12U ASA Nationals is a once in a life time experience and I hope every player has an opportunity to experience it once! For those from rec – there is no comparison between ASA B Nationals and ASA 12U A Nationals… enjoy!

Cent, I enjoyed your speech after the game. Can you do me a favor, and find a girl thats at
least two inches shorter than the one you measured my kid up with Actually I got a kick watching her face, finally seeing someone taller than herself.
Once again great game, and i'm sure So. CAl. will be represented well, at Nationals.

Charlie, thanks for the compliments. It was a great tournament and we had to work hard every game as every team we played was a quality team with great coaches. Our girls refused to lose winning many close games, even having the umpires help us in the Jynx game. I don't know what it is about Jynx/Power Surge games but they are always classics as Jynx is a great team and Jessie has really made a great organiztion.

I sure miss you and the the other great parents of Power Surge 96. Looks like Power Surge has another quality team in Power Surge 99. I am sure you miss every game being a battle and meaningful in 12u and 14u. I am enjoying the heck out of coaching and teaching the younger girls the great game of Fastpitch Softball.

Okay Bracky, 14U is done - Now the results for the new 12U poll as well as
your input on the Bracky Elite ( like you did for 14U)... with less than 2 weeks
till PGF we're waiting....

A big thank you to all of teams that attended the TCS Bracky Elite 24 - we had an outstanding group of teams. I'm currently working on the stats and the all offensive team!


Good luck to everyone going to TCS World Series, ASA Nationals & PGF Nationals...... make sure you enjoy this time with your player as boring showcases are in your near future........

PS. Coaches of the top teams - thank you for making 12u fun again..... last year the 98's were afraid to play each other in tournaments.... in the end they could have played a hundred times and the same team would have still won Nationals!

Power Surge vs. Georgia Impact in winners bracket final playing at 10 local time today.

Firecrackers Quarles beat North Gwinnette Blaze this morning in losers bracket game and will face winners of Edge Chaos vs Texas Bombers.
