Most people dont like the way I coach. They prefer for coaches to be quiet and say little. I speak to my teams(especially our younger teams) non stop. My job is to teach my players, and I only know how to do that one way. In the process, I rub a lot of opposing teams/parents the wrong way.

What most of those people dont understand is that I do not do things to get under the other teams skin, I do what I do to help my team win and teach our kids. Nothing more.

In this game, I did what I always do(coach), it was a great game, score was 0-0 in 5th inning or so, we scored to take a 1-0 lead. Next batter hits a blooper to lc field that should not score the run, but when you go up 1-0 late and have a chance at another run, that is not the time to play it safe, and I sent the runner home, CF make s perfect throw to the plate and throws us out.

As I am walking off the field, this parent starts yelling at me to keep sending my runners(apparently thinking I am the fool for testing the kid) to which I pop off back to him that I will send my runner every single time.

He loses his mind, runs to get on the field to come after me and is held back by several other parents.

Game continues, we win 1-0, never have a bad word with the other teams coaches or players and a great game by both team ends. No other stuff happens and we all go about our business.

Would not have been pretty had this guy not been held back, as he wasnt trying to come on the field to say hello.

that is crazy, for a parent to try to walk on the field and approach a Coach, player or an umpire should be banned. I don’t care if the other coach is the Biggest A$$ (not calling anyone an A$$) or the Ump is calling a horrible game, you have to have self-control and self-respect to no embarrass your team, your Kid and family! Stay home if you can’t handle the competition
