Bay Area Teams

We're new to the Bay Area, Dublin, and looking for a team (14u) closer to home this fall. I have talked to some Crossfire families they seem happy and had heard a couple things about Strikezone. Anyone know much about those orginizations or have any suggestions. Were looking to play ASA or USSSA.

My DD played for 14U Crossfire fora season.We had a great experience with them and I really liked the way Coach Bill handled the girls. Our reason for leaving had nothing to with the organization. As for Strikezone.... Never played for them but I've heard "things", but have no first hand knowledge. Dont read to much into it, just keep asking around.

And you will hear some "Things." Bottom line is he has been a success for the last 10 years, he has dealt with some of the best players to ever come out of Norcal. He doesnt give a rats arse what you or anyone else thinks (much like most good gold coaches). He certainly isn't for everyone, but he runs a solid PROGRAM.

If you are going to "Ask around" and you are going to take what people say as the gospel, just make sure you include some people that have ACTUALLY played for a program before you listen to the advice. My kid played for Strikezone Gold for 2 years, and he treated her great. Do they do some things I dont agree with or do? Sure, but who cares what someone on the outside thinks. I dont think my Dallas Cowboys make great decisions either, and I second guess the coaches that get paid millions to coach... so what does that show you:)

A ball:teams play ASA
Lady Hustle (Livermore): older 14's moving up to 16's...GOOD org and coaching...COLLEGE
Strikezone (union city): COLLEGE...and D.Ford is no non-sense guy. No 14's team at this time.
Valley Stompers (Danville): Great Coach Callaway.... Rebuilding 98's team
AASA (Tracy): Little travel for TOP Coaching and Org..
Sorcerer/KG Hitters (Concord): Lil distance- GREAT programs and seending kids to big time schools.

A/B ball:teams play USSSA and some ASA..... All these teams about the same.

Wolf Pack (San Leandro)
Oakland Bandits (oakland):
IMPACT (hayward/ San lorenzo:
Crazy (hayward/UC):
MOJO (San Ramon,livermore, Dublin??:
Crossfire (Oakland):
SAN Jose: Too many to list...Sting is the big one with a very good 97's team and a tough commute..

My daughter's both play for MOJO (based out of Pleasanton, but we have girls from Castro Valley, Pleasanton, Livermore, and San Ramon). One plays 12's and one plays on the 14 - Scates team. We've been part of the organization since it's inception and could not be happier. Great families, great girls, great talent. It's like a big family (really big because our 12s and 14s typically practice and travel together so they all get to know each other really well). We play ASA, we had to fit in a rained out tourney so we picked up one USSSA tourney a couple weeks ago, but typically we are at ASA Grapettes and RR Gold tourneys. and... I wouldn't really say we are the same as the others you listed, our 14s beat all of them (some pretty badly) and even took out a Grapettes and an RR Gold team this past weekend...

Wow blu. Dont get offended. I also said not to read too much into it and that I had no first hand knowledge. I agree with you that they should find someone who has been involved in the program. I just forgot that any post on heybucket was a target for a little pent up anger. My bad.

No biggie at all, and trust me, there is ZERO anger in my post, none at all. You gave your input, and I gave mine to the original poster, but their was nothing hostile or remotely upset from me to you.

I just always think people should get opinions from people on a team or having already played for a team, because nobody else knows what they are talking about.
