I said that I did not know him, and what I wrote was in general. If you can not see that big organizations water down play in every area and hurt softball, then you are an .....

I hear this ALL THE TIME. Who exactly "is making money" off their organization. If some one has access to the business plan or financial details of one of these organizations that is supposedly a money-making business, please let me know because I would love to see it.

Money in, does not equal the money going out.

we will go on the small side:

Dues = 125
Dues collected per team each month = 1,500
10 teams paying dues in a organization = 15,000 per month
Dues collected by organization for 10 months = 150,000 a year

---------------------------------------------------------------

Expenses will be done on the large side"

2 tournaments a month
entry fees $200 x2 =$400
balls $20 x2 =$40
Umpires $210 x2 =$420
---------
1220

$1220 x10 teams =122,200
---------------------------------------------------------------
Insurance = 100 per team = $1,000 per year
Coach (if paid) = $200 x2 a month =$4000 per year
Field rental = 100 per month x10 = $1000 per year
uniforms = $100 per kid = 1200 x10 teams = 12,000
---------------------------------------------------------------

Not including=
Cage rental that teams pay for and use, but coach's sell batting lessons for profit.
Team fundraisors
Mega Organization hosted tournaments ( brings in thousands)

Normally there are no refunds.
Normally there is a start up fee at the beginning of each year.( brings in at least 8-10 thousand)
------------------------------------------------------------------

at the least $9800 is left over....who gets it

I dont know everything and never claimed to - however, I can say that as a new parent to the BB organization...the dues that I was asked to pay are no more than any other team that I have played for - as a matter of fact - my other daughters are more expensive and her team is solo- not part of a club....and maybe that is why they are higher - but the way that I look at it - if its an amount that I cannot afford - we just go somewhere else - but as far as I know, Ken and/or/nor any of the other BB coaches are living large because of the money that I pay to play!

with that being said, I never knew how much people did not like the BB until I came to play for them....and I can only speak on my daughters level - not for other teams - but I dont know why....they are great - the parents the coaches and the girls....best decision that I ever made!

if ya cant beat em, join em!
