I also dont like the idea of Silver and Gold brackets at this event. Seems like to many TD's are going in that direction. Reward the teams that seed well on Saturday and let ALL teams go it at in one bracket Sunday. Just my humble opinion.

It usually boils down to number of fields and number of teams.
I think it makes for a better tournament to split into two brackets. Why have a #4 seed face a #1 right out of the gate and most likely get sent home? It is no fun for the #4 seed and what is gained by the #1 seed.
If they are playing against other #3 & #4 seeds there is the chance for them getting more games by playing against similar level teams.
I know pool play does not always equal a perfect seeding but overall it is a pretty good indicator of where your team sits.

I agree it does not do much for a #1 seed to play a #4 seed. Fresno Force has always had the Sunday bracket set up where the lower seeds battle it out early in the day Sunday to advance while #3, #2 and #1 seeds sit on bye slots waiting for teams to work there way through the bracket. I have always liked that format as it gives lower seeds that may have played poorly a chance to make up for it on Sunday while rewarding the teams that played well Saturday by giving them a later start and less but equal games to the ship based omn there pool play performance. Again, just my humble opinion.

The thing that is funny is that people actually thought they did this specifically to make it easy on some teams.

Shit happens that some people dont even notice, because they just dont always think like us involved with a team.

Good of them to hopefully fix things, but dont always assume the worst intentions on people.

Intel, your org's responsiveness is impressive.

The Fresno Force has always been a favorite. For many Norcal teams it's the first real roadtrip they make outside of going all the way to Socal. You guys place tremendous effort into always putting on a great event and it shows.

Still looks like 4 teams that are number 1 seeds on the 12 have to play a extra game to get to the champion ship . Seems not fair to those 4 teams. There at a disadvantage

If they have to keep gold and silver brackets with 24 teams each, the only way to fix the fairness issue in terms of total games to get to championship for the #1 seeds is to have some of them play one another in their 1st game on Sunday or to have an extra game for some of the #2 seeds.

It sounds like some people are saying they would prefer the extra game for #2 seeds, so long as all the #1 seeds only have to play the same number of games to get into championship.

You have the same amount of number 1 seeds as you have number 2 seeds
