What is the latest on the new ASA testing standards and the status of composite bats
I can't get anyone at ASA to answer the phone. I have heard rumors that the Xeno FP12X is on some magical list to lose it's certification soon. Any truth to that?
The only thing I can find is a review of all composites as a group.

Say what? Don't know where you are getting your info, but ASA does not take the fact that a bat is composite into consideration.
The bat has only been on the approved list 11 months. That means in that time, four bats from at least two sources would have had to have failed tests. I guess it could be possible, but don't know how likely it would be.

Xeno's have no strikes, so no worries. The Worth FP454 -8 has 2 strikes and the Worth FP454 -9 has 1 strike, so likely just a matter of time before they are not allowed, uhhh whoops before the manufacturer declares those bats as "too old"
. Even if they are wink, wink, nudge, nudge, "too old" for NCAA, they will be fine for 14 year olds!

The rumor was relayed by a local reputable sports equpment supplier here in the Houston area.
I spoke with member of the ASA Certifications committee and there are no indications that it has ever failed a test at all. Appears that there is no truth to the rumor.
