2012 Rocketech and NCAA Approval?

What's on your mind?

by fastpitch fool » Sat Mar 03, 2012 2:35 pm

Does anyone (TumbleBUG) know what is going on with the 2012 RT getting approved for use in the NCAA?

My daughters brand new 2012 RT just got thrown out of a game for non-approval...

Yes, I know it's my fault for not checking the list beforehand, before that reply gets started...

Thanks...

How can a 2012 be thrown out of a game, you sure the ump wasn't hitting the juice? :)

Tumbleweed are you out there

Help!!!!

TD taped up DD's bat, and kept it... The other bat in her bag is also a 2012 Rocketech...

The NCAA approved bat list is a matter of public record. https://nfca.org/web_docs/forms/ncaabatlist.pdf

That model number is not currently on the list. Umpires cannot challenge the list, can only allow bats on it.

The next modification date for the list is, I believe, March 15. If not on that list, won't be allowed for the 2012 playing season.

Thanks UmpSteve. I do understand the list, but never gave it much of a thought bc I thought Anderson supplied bats to at least one D1 program and would never let this happen...

TumbleBUG, I had no choice but to go to Dicks Sporting Goods and pay $320 for a CF5 for this tournament with two 2012 RTs in the bag...

There was a mix up with NCAA and we missed the cutoff for inclusion in the list. For the first time ever NCAA has limited their updates to 4 times a year. We will be included with the list update on March 15th. Better late than never I guess. Let's just say the person responsible doesn't work at ABC anymore.
BTW: I'm not sure who Tumbleweed is.

Tumbleweed is what Anderson Bat Co turns into if they keep missing deadlines for bat approvals, and making their loyal users buy the competition's bats at retail prices... Just sayin!

Now you have an 8+ year loyal RT user who has an CF5 in her hands for a week. I will have at least one bat for sale at the end of the week. Either two RTs, or one CF5.

That was a bit harsh and mostly unnecessary. I know it was lame. What do you think happened? . . . I got the first time forms on my desk to turn in the models for the NCAA list and I said to myself, "We have too many customers including this Fastpitch Fool character. I'll just set this aside until it's too late for the January 15 list publication to see if I can't sabotage our sales and piss-off every NCAA player and coach using our bat." We do have D1 program involvement and they simply agreed to use the 2011 models until March 15. They were all very kind and patient. I had to come here to be berated and disrespected. I guess you don't have to wonder why more in my position don't make themselves targets on these message boards.

FWIW: this board and it's members, for the most part, are kind and respectful.
