Gracias. Everyone just thinks its SO easy to run a team. Just don't cut my kid, make sure she starts, and oh yeah win state and nationals. Everyone's happy right? Oh by the way, we went to try out for the bat busters, Victory, and corona angels, but your doing a great job, my dd loves playing for you and the team!........... BLAH!! I think every parent should run a team through the months of august and September. My least favorite time of the year!

for the most part when they say all positions are open they are unless its a team run by a bunch of dads then it should say all positions open except for where my DD plays.

LMAO!!!!!!!!! The sad part is the DADDYs that do this dont find it funny at all. Matter of fact they will tell you and anyone else that may listen that they would never do that.

So what if the kid trys out for multiple teams? I heard a group of coaches talking and they had a different view, they figured if you are trying out for thier team, you should be able to commit to them, basically no shopping around.

Well I guess I would agree with that. If you try out for a team, you should be willing to commit. What usually happens though, is players, (parents) want to goto 3 or 4 different tryouts, then make a decision. They arent so much trying out for the team, as much as having the team try out for them. There is no right answer, no wrong. Its really hard for the coaches that care about the players, and its really hard for the players that love their teamates and are loyal to the coach. Its the age old question.. Do you want to be a part of a winning team, or do you want to be a star on a struggling team? Hey that sounds like a good question for the board! When I played, winning is all that matered, but nowadays everything is so hyper competetive, you have to maximize your number of at bats in order to develop at the same rate as the Jones' DD. Do your best, but more than anything, dont burn bridges. The tb community is too small.

How about this, we need a #1 pitcher and catcher that can hit and have speed. All positions are open except for my daughters position who doesn't really want to be there because she likes boys better. My assistant coaches dd positions are safe also even though they both think their kids are better than they really are. Please come to our tryout where you will see a new side of daddy ball and a few mothers who drink to much.

Commitment and Integrity come to mind. A lack of either by the coach or the parents should not be tolerated. Hoping that either will improve is much the same as talking yourself into eating that fish you've had in the fridge for 2 weeks. All will cause nausea

The best player in the world wouldn't be welcome on my team if she had a bad attitude or otherwise put herself ahead of her teammates. But I'm probably pretty much alone on that one.

You're not alone. We agree 100%.
Our phylosophy is:
1st) Good students with Positive Attitudes (No Premadonas)
2nd) Good Supportive Parents
3rd) Talent & Potential

We could care less about the Premadonas who think they are better then everyone or have parents who think their DDs are better then everyone.

We never seem to have a problem finiding enough talented good kids with good parents to compete.

Um, if anyone knows of a premadona catcher with a strong arm and a bad attitude, send her my way! If she can block, frame, and hates people stealing on her, I have a high tollerance for 14yo attitudes!!
