Good freind of mine got the ALS diagnosis just 4 short months ago ... He is deteriorating daily ... It is moving much faster than expected ... He has maintained and I try to feed his sense of humor ... It's better than tears, he agrees ...

If anyone is still following this thread....

We did also miss many Sundays while away for softball. But as far as the wise cracks go...oh well.
Scripture says "Don't give up the habit of meeting together." We get in the habit of church on Sunday which is great. But if your habit is a Bible study on Thursday night every other week...that's still a pretty good habit.

Your heart is in the right place. These few years of softball are only temporary when we look back on it. Now we miss the trips to tournaments, hotel stays, and neat dinners together with the team. And take heart, I think God likes softball too. After all it is the first sport mentioned in the Bible.
